View the latest post Carver 466 my propellershaft

Hi Carver owners.
I need a new propeller for my 2001 Carver 466MY with tamd74edc Engines.
Is there anybody here that can help me source a supplier and/or technical dimensions for these shafts.
I live in Norway and would like to buy from local machineshop. I have tried contacting Carver but they do not respond on their web form contact.
Maybe some one have an email adress to them?

All help appriciated.

Kjetel

Hello everyone! We are now the proud owners of a 3607 Aft Cabin. She’s not new and needs a little bit of love, but we have nothing but time since retirement. Hope to see you on the water!

Need to replace a few fitting. It looks like 1/2” line. Is that correct?

Ordering this to replace the elbow that goes to the head water value. Just want to make sure it is indeed 1/2” pipe throughout the boat.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver C34/C36 Command Bridge

Hello all,

I am very interested in actual owner experience, and reviews of this particular boat. I am especially interested in how the boat rides, about how many people you can comfortable carry? Does the boat tend to bob or tip with a 3-4 or more people up on the flybridge?
We are a family of four most of the time on the boat, but would like to take maybe10- 12(?) on rare occasions for a slow sunset harbor cruise.

I would like to know the pros and cons.

Thank you in advance.
sal..

View the latest post New Mariner Owner

Hello all, just bought a new to me 2007 carver mariner 360. Twin crusader 6.0, about 550 hours, very clean. Survey came back good. I moved up from a Sundancer 280 as my wife and I (and dog) spend most summer weekends on the boat and needed more room.

I'm aware of the cons of being slower and not exactly great at sea but a dock queen. I'm obviously ok with that trade off.

anything I should be aware of with this boat? Common issues? I was talking to guy with the same boat in my storage space and he mentioned he blows the fuse on his bow thruster all the time if runs for more than a couple seconds. Any idea what type/size of fuse this is? Anything else to be aware of?

This is pretty cool. They actually found an iPhone that had been underwater for 6 months and still works. Amazing how much garbage is down there. https://www.iclarified.com/80003/iphone ... lake-video

View the latest post Attachment(s) Ignition Switch

I have a 2001 Carver 404 CPMY (Merc 7.4 MPI) with a starting gremlin. When I turn the key, it's a crapshoot on whether or not the engines will start. Here's what happens: I turn the key, the pre-ignition beeps sound loud and clear, I engage the starter and either she starts right up or nothing at all happens. This is happening with both engines. I've bought 2 new batteries to no avail. I've tried battery 1, batter 2, and both on the selector switch to no avail. I've moved/jiggled the clutches to ensure it's not the neutral selective safety switch. It just seems very random. Sometimes they will start right up and other times it will take 4 to 10 tries. It's very unnerving especially when the Admiral is looking over my shoulder. Any ideas? Could it be the 20A breaker above the ignition switch failing? Seems too much of a coincidence for both sides.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 22x22 Left and Right Propellers, Shafts, Struts, Everything - 1 3/8th shafts

Long story short, I acquired these with the intention of shortening and milling down one of the shafts to work on my Searay. Little did I know the extreme cost vs simply buying new.

I just called Carver to see what they could cross reference part numbers to figure out what these were made for. Awaiting a callback.

Things I know:
1. 4 Blade, 22 inch, 22 pitch props, matching left and right. Props have minor dings but they are shown in photos.
2. 1 3/8th shafts, this was confirmed by the strut assembly from Carver.
3. Both shafts appear to be approx 103", however, the tape was slightly curved during measurement.
4. These are complete front to back, from the end nut where the propeller mounts to the end flange to bolt to transmission.

Completely identical other than being left and right-hand props.

Selling as a complete set. At this time, I have no idea what they go to. The only marking on the strut is "Carver 51136". Carver said they would call or email back once they cross-referenced some stuff for me and narrow it down.

If you are a Great Looper, this could ensure you have zero prop or shaft issues, as it's a complete set.

Ebay sells a matching set of props for approx 16-1800 for all nice and shiny ones. No idea what the shafts are worth and the rest. Thinking a number that starts with a 3 if I had to guess.

No, I can't ship. It takes 2 full-grown men to pick these up. They are heavy as crap. Bring a truck, I'll help ya load. What you see is what you get. I make zero claim these are perfect shape but I have a feeling these aren't easy to come by.

*I know I am a new member, you can see my eBay store, my business, however, you want to verify, just lemme know!*

Hopefully the forum will give me a notification of a PM about these or a comment.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Auxiliary Fuel Tank Gauge

I have a 2001 Carver 404 CPMY. It has 3 fuel tanks (port, starboard, and auxiliary) and 2 fuel level gauges on either side of the steering wheel. To gauge the fuel in port and starboard tanks, I operate a switch on the dash to starboard of the steering wheel (reads either port or starboard tank). I am not sure what the fuel gauge to the left of the steering wheel does? Is that for the auxiliary tank? How do I check the fuel in that tank?

The Carver specification sheet says my boat holds 318 gallons of gas. While crawling around in the engine room I noticed that the port tank says it has a 98 gallon capacity. Assuming the stbd tank is the same, does the auxiliary tank really hold 122 gallons? Mine is leaking so I took it out of service but I am always nervous now when planning a trip with only being able to max out on 180 gallons or so of fuel. Any advice?

View the latest post Touch up paint?

Does anyone have a paint code or source for touch up paint for the metal surfaces on a Carver. I have a few of the uprights for my hardtop that have a few spots where the paint is bubbled and I would like to fix them before I put my boat back together.
