View the latest post Mercruiser parts supplier

I am looking for best choices for Mercruiser part suppliers. I have 2 Mercruiser 7.4l gas inboards. Priorities are delivery, return policy, OEM part number finder, customer service. Amazon is good. Must have the right OEM number to work well. Boats.net looks good. They have Mercuiser parts drawings. Thanks

View the latest post Sliding Curtain Base Fixed Track Repair

This question concerns my 3467 Santego. The curtain that covers the rear sliding door, is held in place at the base by a metal track embedded in wood. The curtains slide on this track, held in place by small oval, metal(?) beads attached to the curtains by threads. The beads fit into these tracks. My problem is that my metal tracks are slightly bent so that the beads slide out of the tracks or get caught where the tracks are constricted. The result is that the curtains hang free, vertically, rather than angled with the door. My initial efforts to align them have only made the problem worse. Does anyone know either where to locate replacement tracks or a better way to realign them? It seems like a rather simple problem, but no less annoying. Your suggestions will be most welcome.

View the latest post Dead fuel gages

How hard is it to change the fuel gauge sending unit? My 2006 42SS fuel gages read total full with the key on n totally empty when the key is off. I drove it for six hours and they never moved off full.

View the latest post Heater not heating above 72

My 2006 42SS heater was working fine. When the heater came on water came out the three over board holes. How there’s no water coming out and the heater runs all the time trying to get to the temperature set on the thermostat. I checked the CB and all where on except the AC water pressure pump. I turned it on and it pumped water out a different hole. I left it on hoping it would help the heater. After about an hour I turned it off because it didn’t help.

View the latest post Fuel pump for Generator

I have a Kohler 7.3e generator. The fuel pump is badly corroded and needs to be replaced. My manual does not list the part number. My search so far has found Facet 278490. Can someone confirm that number? I have had a few misses on part number cross references that resulted in repair delays and returned parts. Thanks

View the latest post Port light lense replacement

I have a 1988 3607 and would like to replace all the port light lenses. The frames seem to be in good shape. Does anyone have advise where to purchase and what part number I need. They look to be 24 1/2 x 7 1/2 and 14 1/2 x 7 1/2”. Probably need to replace the hatches as well. Would I need to replace entire unit or just the lenses?

View the latest post Portable Genny on a Riv 28?

If anyone has resorted to using a portable generator, such as a Honda 2000 for example, on a 28 Riv . . . where did / do you store it and run it? Looking for a short term solution before going solar for staying out all week/weekend. Everything major on this boat seems to be 110V - TV, stove, fridge, A/C if I can fix it, water heater.

View the latest post Upstairs Fridge has no 12V Power Cable to it

Recently purchased 2009 44 Sojourn and the upstairs fridge was not running on 12V power. Runs fine on 120V AC w/ shore power and/or generator.
I verified all the breakers were on and finally decided the little inverter on the back of the fridge had probably gone out (I have had this happen before on other boats). I pulled the fridge and found that the 12V wires coming off the inverter were not connected to anything. Just tied up on the back of the fridge like they were from the factory. I looked all around inside the compartment and cannot find the wires coming from the DC power panel. I opened the DC power panel and verified the breaker has a large orange wire labeled Z1 connected to it and the wire goes thru the bulkhead at he back of the power panel area. At that point I have no idea where the wire is going or how to find it. It is under the stairs going to the fly bridge and there is no access anywhere that I can see to run wires up.

Any ideas or anyone had a similar problem with Carver.

There is also no other 12V power behind the fridge so I am not sure how to even get the wire up to it at this point if I have to just run a new wire.
