3 D Printed Carver Parts.
This is my first attempt at the nameplate, I can make it any size.
We plan on other custom boat parts.

Re: 3 D Printed Carver Parts.
This is the unit I picked up, pricing is based on size of product you can produce, the bigger the capacity the more it costs. This one is pretty big in terms of portable, table top, non commercial machines and had rather good ratings so I went for it. Have only unboxed, assembled and turned it on to confirm proper operation so far but will get into it later this month. https://www.amazon.ca/QIDI-Large-Intelligent-Industrial-Printer/dp/B07JBXVCWG
Here is a year old review of the unit for anyone interested.

I do have access to CAD people at work but there must be something out there which is easy and you do not need to go to university for 4 years to produce a plastic part. Bottom line is I want to avoid getting into autocad.

There are a lot of free applications out there. I just used MS 3D Builder, which is free and works on Windows 10 and doesn't require a lot of PC resources.... I'm using it on a 7 year old cheap laptop. It has a lot of limitations, but if you're creative you can figure out a way to make what you need. You can download it and play around, and if you don't like it search for something else (free) to use.

Midnightsun wrote:Source of the post I just bought a unit for fabricating some motor junction boxes in our shop. Tired of paying close to $600 and waiting for months for a part worth maybe $35. figured it will pay for itself after I make about 10 pieces, crazy but true. I am sure I will find other applications for it especially the boat.
