- Forum: General Boating Discussion
My 2019 season is over. Time to start planning the 2020 season. My boat club has quite a few trips planned so I could have a busy season. I am retired but do work. My boating monies come from my work. I was part time but in order to get my weekends off so I could go boating I moved into a 40 hour position working the midnight shift. I actually spent a bit less this year because I also used that income to buy new living room furniture, a new watch and a new 65" LG 4K TV.
2019 Boating Expenses
1700.00 Summer Dockage Gibraltar Boat Yard
310.20 2019 Inter Lakes Yachting Association Powerboat Regatta
782.11 Port Engine Sea Water Pump Replacement Repair Ricks Boat Service
189.87 Fuel 41.285 Gallons Gibraltar Boat Yard
52.50 1 Day Dockage at Put In Bay
50.00 Fuel 10.103 Gallons Middle Bass Island State Park Marina
65.17 Starbrite Canvas Waterproofing Daymark Marine
101.51 2 Day Dockage at Bob Lo Island Marina
200.00 Fuel 52.750 Gallons Elba Mar Boat Club
200.00 Oil Change at Ricks Boat Service
330.17 Fuel 71.791 Gallons Gibraltar Boat Yard
48.55 20 Gallons Starbrite RV Antifreeze Daymark Marine
726.00 Winter Storage Gibraltar Boat Yard
260.00 Winterize Engines Ricks Boat Service
45.00 Winterize A/C Ricks Boat Service
430.00 Shrinkwrap at Shrinkrite
5491.08
When you factor in the other stuff I bought out of these work funds I spent a bit more than last year. Now it is on to 2020.

Hello All, I’m new to the forum and a new Carver 570 Voyager owner. Just wanted to say hi and let you know I’m looking forward to participating in this community and the knowledge and experience you all share.
One question, our boat is in NYC and I’m looking for a captain familiar with the eastern seaboard to run the boat to Bradenton, FL over the Christmas to New Years holidays with myself and two others as crew. Any recommendations you have on experienced captains would be appreciated.
In the meantime, I wish all a Merry Christmas and Health and Happiness in the coming New Year!

View the latest post Voyager 450 Waste Pipe Access
- Posted by: Sgodfrey » December 7th, 2019, 9:09 pm
- Forum: AC/Heat, Plumbing & Sanitation
Hello
I have a 2000 voyager 450 that smells due to waste line issues. My current plan is to start replacing the accessible sanitation lines in the engine room. The carver parts manual has some drawings that explain the general layout.
It seems to me that sections of the port side and starboard side lines are difficult to access.
Has anyone figured out a way to access the waste lines under the galley on the Port side ? Specifically the flexible hose from the head to the pvc pipe and flexible hose from the pvc pipe to the port vacuum pump in the engine room?

Contacted Carver on what material they use on the dinner is almost impossible. I gave the the part numbers right off the material and still just a run around. Not impressed.

View the latest post 1979 Carver 32, 3396 Mariner Barn Find!

- Forum: Carver Boats For Sale
Newbie here, my partner and I own Maritime Services Company doing salvage, recovery and demo of commercial and pleasure vessels.
We were called to come look at a 32 Carver for demo. This is, oddly, a true barn find. Older gentleman (now passed) was restoring a 1979 Carver 32, 3396 Mariner. Its too nice to demo. Interior is gutted to be redone, new wiring, stringers solid, rebuilt dual 315W's, transmissions rebuilt, new shafts, new 4 blade props, etc., bright work is spotless, all wood is solid.
It needs cleaned (been sitting for 2 years), bottom painted, and a new interior installed. It really is ready for the fixer upper.

Thank you in advance for helping. 1st year of boating and the help I have gotten here has be a God send.

View the latest post Changing Impellers on Cummins 6BTA 5.9 -Any Tricks?
- Posted by: FSP » December 3rd, 2019, 2:50 pm
- Forum: Diesel Engines/Transmissions
I've taken off the caps and inspected the impellers and they are fine. Managed to wedge my camera into the port side space to take a picture and did the rest by feel. However, when it comes time to change them out or replace one underway I'm wondering if anyone has any tricks, tools etc that make removal and installation easier, particularly on the port side that is wedged in between the fuel tank.
Thanks in advance.

View the latest post Recommend me a TV/DVD for a boat...
- Posted by: Jain » December 3rd, 2019, 7:35 am
- Forum: General Boating Discussion
Right, before I get a flaming for not just indulging in the lost art of conversation over a nice bottle of red instead, the only likely programmes viewed on this TV are likely to be In The Night Garden, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam and Thomas the Tank Engine. OK, and maybe Top Gear possibly.
However if anyone can recommend me a TV with the following attributes, I'd be grateful...
Bulkhead mounting
Durable, not going to break on a boat
12V/240V options
Some kind of built in aerial or solution that does not involve the effort and expense of a masthead dish thing
Built in DVD or ideally Blu-Ray player (for Thomas and the Dinosaurs DVD)
Headphone port (so I don't need to listen to Ringo Starr's dulcet tones)
Compact...around the 20" mark should be fine
Thanks in advance!

Hi All,
We are looking for a 564 Cockpit Motor Yacht with the hard top option. Located on the gulf coast or the East coast. There are a couple listed now online, but that's it. Hoping someone may have an ear to the ground on any additional ones that may be hitting the market soon. Thanks in advance for any help!
