Both the forward shower and the aft tub drain very slowly despite all our efforts to remove hair and gunk. Carver manual says not to use caustic drain cleaners to avoid causing damage. Looking for suggestions for what to try next! The water seems to drain into some kind of holding tank and then pumps out from there. We have no idea where that tank is located nor what pump actually pumps it out.

FWIW the idiot mechanic who was supposed to winterize the boat poured RV antifreeze into every tank but didn't run it thru the lines. As a result we had several broken and leaking lines when we returned in June. We hope they've all been found and repaired or replaced but... no idea if this could be related to our slow drain problem but thought it worth mentioning.

I have a 1999 Carver 406. The vacuflush keeps tripping the circuit breaker when I turn it on. I get about three rotations on the bellows and then it trips. I replaced the bellows and duckbills as well as the "O" rings. Has anyone changed from Vacuflush to another system? There are alot of moving parts on Vacuflush. Thanks in advance!!

I have a 1990 Carver Montego 3257 and curious if anyone can walk me through the operation of the toilet that I have (pics attached). There is a dry and flush dial as well as an electric flush push button. The seacock is open but it feels pretty firm when I try to slowly pull the handle up and seeing there is a lot of plastic here I don't want to force anything and have breakage. If anyone can share a basic process I would be very grateful. My last boat was more of just a porta-potty.

Has anyone changed their freshwater wash down pump to a lake water one and what is involved?

my port engine is acting up long story short i think i need a new distributor the Sierra 18-5484 looks like the one at roughly 500 bux.... i see others that look the same that say marine that are around 200-200 range ... some people don't like Sierra stuff just wondering what you all think

I just bought my first boat, a 1986 Carver 3207 with twin Crusader 270's. My buddy said I should replace the manifolds and risers. Where can I find the best and cheapest options for the manifolds and risers? Any other recommendations or suggestions?

I own a 2006 V56 and am trying to repair my stern thruster. The thruster quit suddenly last summer in the Spring I had it inspected by a marina and was told that I had stripped a leg gear. Told $6,000 for a new gear and 16 weeks to have it machined. I believe the unit is a Sleipner Sidepower thruster but I am having difficulty finding anyone who knows for sure what the unit is and how to repair it. I'm told I have to scrap the entire system and go brand new. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Impeller and wear plate was just replaced on engine.

Water sprays enough from the small "retaining screw cam" that I could tell from looking at diagrams. It is a single flathead screw near the raw water intake hose clamp area.

Water dibbles out of even with engine off and seacock open.

Engine running, raw water starts to spray and drip faster. Enough to accumulate about a gallon of raw water in the bilge directly under pump/pulley area. After 1 hour run in the bilge under engine (not enough to flow through the next limber hole into the overall bile area). No temp issue or water pump alarm. Water does spray on other parts, pulleys etc. while engine is running at higher rpms, so of course this unwanted.

Any ideas from best case to worst case scenario before checking into this?

I attached pics of similar water pump (not exactly like mine) but that #6 retaining cam screw is universal on a lot of the raw water pump diagrams i could find, and that is where the leak is.
