Hi, I signed up primarily to say thank you to the crew who setup this website, please forgive my English as I was raised in the US and had no idea, until one day while traveling in England I became lost and while asking for directions the well dressed Brit kindly told me he could not help me with directions but he could help me with my English. point taken.
here is to British humor and adventure.
Thank you.

View the latest post Battery selection

I have a Mercruiser 260 in my 89 Carver Montego.

Im being told to replace my batteries by a marine mechanic or "Upgrade" the batteries . He's trying to "upsell" me.

I believe the batteries I currently have in the boat are the specs that Mercruiser suggests.

Can anyone confirm the batteries and specs One should have in the boat or for that engine?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge and opinions!!

View the latest post 2001 Carver 466- Vinyl/Rubber extrusions for window glazing

Hello folks,

I have a 2001 466 Carver that needs to have the vinyl/rubber glazing strips replaced. Do you have a source for the vendor that Carver uses for these extrusions? I need the continuous strips that fit between the glass and the aluminum frames/extrusions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Victorboat

View the latest post Anchor systems

I have an 83 3607 Aft cabin with a non working windlass anchor system. I am considering replacing. Does anybody have any recommendations on either replacing existing or other styles? This is certainly a work in progress as the previous owner was a notorious duct tape type of guy.

Any advice will be welcomed.

I appreciate it,
Blair

View the latest post Attachment(s) Vetus wet muffler

I had the chance to run our genny while in the islands and it was flawless. Met another boater who had the same genny and you could hardly hear it. He installed a Vetus muffler in-line with the water/exhaust hose, noise level was near 0. Anyone here have any experience with type of product? And I investigated my system and yet there is an exhaust muffler on it. So I’m guessing, that, he put one in front of the original muffler.

I am making a a deposit on a 2004 36 Mariner this week. Is there a good source for owners manuals or crusader 5.7 service manuals? I looked for a files section and tried to search but was unable to find.
Thanks

I am making a a deposit on a 2004 36 Mariner this week. I'd like to do engine oil and transmission oil samples. Is the Transmission fill tube easily accessible or do I need to have the marina do it?
Thank you

View the latest post A/C Registers in master berth 36 Mariner

I am making a a deposit on a 2004 36 Mariner. We went through the boat pretty well but could not find any A/C registers in the master berth. Does it have them? If not, how does it get cool with the doors closed. I'd like to know the answer before the survey.
Thank You,
