View the latest post Not water flow on ac units 1996 355

Hey folks, I would appreciate any ideas on pump failure to run all of a sudden on recent startup.
I’ve been using one or both units through out the winter for heat an recent ac use. This past weekend wasn’t particularly hot but wanted to cool down the cabin so i turned on the unit and it came on blew air , but when I checked I had no water flow so I shut it off and tried the secondary unit to see if it was a control issue of some type. Same - no water flow so shut it down.

I don’t recall any messages on screen just blowing warm air.
The strainer is okay but the motor didn’t seem to run at all.

Is there a separate fuse or anything I can check as the circuit breakers were not blown and I switched them off and on to make sure. I applied any ideas as it’s hard to find an ac- mechanic to come and check. Thanks much.

View the latest post Installation of blackwater holding tank in1986 Carver Mariner 32.

Hi, I'm buying this well maintained Carver 32 to use as a part time live aboard. It has never had a black water holding tank, and I'll need to install one.
Does anyone have advice on how to approach it? Is it a do it yourself project or best to hire a professional?
Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) Velvetdrive less propulsion on one side.

Question about Velvetdrives.

I have a 1983 Carver 3207 with Velvetdrive transmissions, Model 1017-007 as shown on the plate. I believe these may be considered 71C's.

I was cruising a few days ago and seemed to lose forward propulsion on one side. After a bit of fiddling around, checking, etc., it appeared the upper control for that side was not fully engaging in forward. Reverse seems to have expected thrust similar to the other side.

The reason I am thinking the upper control was not adjusted properly is from operating the upper control and watching the transmission, going to neutral, then operating the lower control and watching the transmission. The lower control seemed to fully engage forward with proper thrust.

I adjusted the upper control and thought I had everything fixed. We went out and cruised with what appeared to be good propulsion from both sides. After some swimming, we headed back to the marina, but again it was acting up and seemed to have less thrust than the other side.

While under way back to the marina, I looked at both shafts, and both were rotating as expected, but the one with less thrust appeared to be spinning slower than the other. Of course, this was just eyeballing it.

Oil levels in both was good.

Any thoughts on this? Could the lower controls also need adjusting to allow the upper control to fully engage forward? Could there be an adjustment of the linkage at the transmission that would allow the upper control to fully engage forward? Is there some other reason why that side appears to have less propulsion in forward than the other side?

Are these drives similar to a hydraulic motor where a little oil flow allows the motor to operate, but less fast than at maximum oil flow? Or do they operate where if they are forward or reverse, they just operate?

Got fed up with what we did when we removed the Clarion system. (Fusion in its place now) it just looked industrial. Made a new template with white birch and matched the stain.

View the latest post Great Lakes Skipper Reminder

Just wanted to remind people here about Great Lakes Skipper. These people specialize in picking up spare parts from boat manufacturers that they do not want to stock any more or companies that are closing their doors, a great place to find things that were specific to a boat manufacturer.

I had been searching on how to make up new fresh and raw water wash down labels since the 2 I have on the bow are faded and one is actually broken hanging on by a single screw. Kinda gave up and then yesterday evening I went to GLS and searched "Carver Label". Sure enough they had these labels so I ordered 2 of each. https://www.greatlakesskipper.com/searc ... rver+label

View the latest post New to Carver's

Hello all!

I recently purchased a 1983 Carver 3207. So far my wife and I really like it. It is located on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin.

Looking forward to learning as much as possible about it.

A HUGE thanks to Phrancus for posting the manuals for so many model boats. It really is a significant help.

On the documentation that he has gathered, I only found the single file (manual) for the 3207 model. Are there other manuals available for that model? Would manuals for other models provide similar information such as for the engines, transmissions, controls, etc?

The 3207 manual provides a lot of useful information, but there are many references to other materials in it which are not available in the file.

I look forward to poking around here and seeing what I can find.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Want to buy 1979 Carver Santa Cruz 25' engine cover box.

As the title says, I am in search of a 1979 Carver Santa Cruz 25' engine cover box. As an alternative I could use detailed pictures of one so that I can attempt to replicate it. In the attached picture you can see that I process the cushion for the engine cover but not the box. Thanks in advance.
