View the latest post Attachment(s) What size nut is this?

This may be a silly question, but I'd like a second opinion before I go purchasing the wrong tool. I'll be changing both Tides shaft seal kits (the whole assembly) during our upcoming haulout and am getting parts and tools gathered now. They are original to the boat (2002) and are in poor condition overall.

Based on the attached drawings, it looks like the nut (Item 7) that holds the coupler on the shaft is a 2 1/4" nut, but I just want to make sure I'm reading it correctly. If you look at all the other items, they use the "inch marks" with the dimensions, but not on this part for some reason.

I've also heard that it is a nyloc nut and requires a thin-wall socket to fit inside the coupler. I wasn't sure what all the nomenclature for "CSL 2-1/4 SHT" meant.

Has anyone done this job and/or have any other advice? Thanks in advance!

View the latest post Batteries

Hi my name is Billy. And I'm a boataholic. Just got a 1998 carver voyager 530 that was pretty neglected. Going to try and bring her back to her former glory. So I started changing batteries and what I thought was fairly easy however there is four marine batteries center forward and I got confused on what goes where. If anyone has a picture or diagram it would be greatly appreciated. I didn't get any books
Billy
There are 2 8ds rear center by generator
There are 2 8ds behind each motor tamd122b's I think
There are 4 regular marine batteries forward center in front of ac water pump that I was changing and got confused with what went where please help. Thanks
Should change my name to in over my head. Lol

View the latest post Limber Holes on 46MY

ON the 2005 46MY there must be limber holes below each engine for drainage to the center bilge pump. MY question is where are they?

View the latest post ZF301 twin sync, one lever

I have not been able to get the synchronization to turn on. Also cannot turn on one lever operation mode.
When I tried the procedure from the manual, a steady beep started and did not quit until I shifted into neutral and pressed the transfer button.
Much later I noticed errors on both trans controllers. Both had to do with no assignment of a master/slave.
Could this be a transmission setup issue, say function A0 not properly set?
Or is it as simple as not starting the master engine first?

The transmission controller, set ups look pretty straight forward but, I do not see a setting for master/slave. I might assume that A0 (processor identification) would indicate that, but there is nothing in the manual that explicitly states it.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Removing salon panels

I need to remove the skyscreen in my salon (2016 C37) for repairs, and to do so I need to remove the four ceiling panels that cover the frame as shown in the attached picture. The skyscreen manufacturer says these are held in place with some sort of plastic fastener and "should pop out easily if you pull on them." To me that's a leap of faith. Has anyone ever done this (successfully)? Is it as easy as he made it sound - and just as easy to put back?
