View the latest post Canvas

I am thinking of making a few pieces of canvas .hat means sewing. Sailrite has machines, but I dont want to spend that kind of money. Any input of Singer 15-91 gear driven? I have heard many people have used it. I would cut the stitching from the canvas surround, then use the old glass as a pattern and sew back in. I know it is harder than it sounds but I am able to make it happen.

View the latest post 53 Voyager Prop wanted - 32 x 37 2 1/4"

I have a 1998 53 Voyager, Prop wanted - 32 x 37 DQ RH 2 1/4" NI . I am also looking for a new 2 1/4 X 124 DBL Tapered shaft . While cruising home a few weeks ago our shaft sheared off, losing our starboard prop. Any help or leads would be appreciated . I am located in Alaska , shipping from the west coast would be preferred, willing to look most anywhere.

Thank you, :captain:

View the latest post Cutlass bearing replacement determination - 1984 Mariner 3697

Hi,

My prop shaft is 1 ⅜ diameter. I have the boat on blocks so wanting to do maintenance while on the hard. The props are removed and when shaking prop shafts there is movement...movement enough to make a slight clunking sound when emphasized. Is there a certain tolerance?

Also, is the process of replacement just a cutlass bearing-removing tool to remove and replace? Or are other calibration methods required?

View the latest post Risers

My 1994 390 CPMY has 7.4 carb Mercruiser (GM) engines, closed cooled, full system. Stamped on exhaust riser is 807988-C. I see numbers ending in A3, Q, etc. What is the difference? I know Merc makes cast iron, e coated and ceramic coated. I dont think the ceramic coated are worth the huge upcharge, as they dont last a lot longer.

Any insites? I have used Osco before, and Barr. NEVER GLM (Good Luck Marine)!

Thanks for any input!

View the latest post Interior wall treatment

What does one do to replace the fabric cloth covering on the “walls” in the aft stateroom, and forward V berth? Mine are getting old, and dingy. I was thinking of vinyl plank, but it is not flexible enough to curve in the forward berth. Thought of carpet, but not sure about any mold that mat grow. has anyone used the SeaDeck type foam on the walls?

View the latest post New owner, new boater, new forum member

Hi everyone:

Glad to find this forum. I'm Steven, a Maryland resident who just purchased a 2008 Carver Mariner 36 that now sits on the South River on the Chesapeake. Having bought the boat in November, I could not bring myself to haul it out right away, so it is still in the slip. At the moment, I'm looking for alternatives to hauling out and shrink wrapping, but will keep that conversation to a different thread.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you fellow boaters, and hopefully contributing a few things along the way. Thanks!

-Steve

View the latest post Attachment(s) For Sale - C40 Command Bridge, 2019, loaded

We bought this beauty in 2021 with aspirations of heading out on the Great Loop in 2023. Unfortunately, time demands are causing us to put our journey off a few years. For us, she is the optimum package for doing the Loop. She is set up nicely for live aboard (we were on it six months last Fall/Winter). Fuel efficient at low and slow 10mph with the ability to jump up to 30mph if needed.

With just 350 hours your family is sure to enjoy a like-new motor yacht that will have your boating friends envious. The attention to detail is superb and truly enhances everyone's comfort and enjoyment while on board. Powered with the Upgraded Cummins Diesel engines and Joystick control; everyone is at ease underway. She features Upper AND Lower helms which rarely come to market.

Below the first thing you will notice is the generous space offered by her wide 13'6" beam and how the aft doors open to allow for your friends and family to move about with ease. There is plenty of room in the salon for comfortably entertaining or just stretching out to relax.

There are countless touches throughout including soft goods and solid surfaces that come together to show what a dazzling gathering/living area can be. Underwater lighting package and two TVs upgraded. A well thought out wet bar with icemaker and additional refrigerator complement a full-size BBQ grill.

She’s a treasure of style and versatile performance. Located at Longboat Key, FL, available to show in January.

Features:

Upper and Lower helms (>$70k option when new)
Joystick control (upper and lower)
Bow thruster
Hard top
Underwater lighting
Kohler Generator (11kw)
Twin Cummins 380HP engines (350hrs ea.)
Cockpit Icemaker, fridge, full-size grill and wet bar
Upgraded AC system to handle “Florida Hot”
Garmin GPSMAP XSV plotter/sounder (2)
Garmin VHF radio
Samsung flat screen TVs (2)
JL Audio Stereo
New batteries throughout (AGM)
Engines and systems recently serviced by Southeast Marine (Cummins)
Professionally maintained throughout its life
Freshly waxed and detailed
Bottom paint in great condition

Where can I get the recessed led lights for the salon ceiling? They are 2 1/8 round and very thin.
