View the latest post Carver C37 Black top maintenance?

Hello,

I have a 2020 C37 with a black roof. Not sure why they did it in Black. Looks nice, but gets very hot in the sun.
Is it painted or black gelcoat? I tried waxing it and it did shine up a bit. But gets dull / chalky weeks later. Suggestions?

Last, how many of you have the 4.2 TDI engine package? Just wondering how difficult is is to get a mechanic for them when needed...

Thanks!
Tony

View the latest post Raymarine Depth Fiinder

Depth on my older, (original units) Raymarine upper helm unit on my 2000 Voyager 450 the display just shows ---. Trying to track down what this issue is. I have read these displays can/ will go bad but transducers rarely do..?? I may have shut the power off to it at the breaker but turned it back on, so could it just be it needs to be reset?

If the display is bad I assume I can just swap the lower with the upper..?? Any thoughts on how big of a deal that is?

Big madden voyage next weekend and really need a depth finder! Thanks

View the latest post No start Alarm Spark or fuel at start

1996 Carver 355. Engine quit after cruising for 30 min with no negative indications. Will not start now. Do not get the ding ding alarm when I turn the key to run. Not getting a spark or fuel during start but the starter will turn over. Must be electrical but we can’t pinpoint the issue. Any ideas?

Crusader 454 fuel injected.

Also checked electrical unit on other engine and worked fine. Not sure what to do.

Thanks

Hi, This is Don. I just recently purchased a 1989 Carver Montego Mid-Cabin 23’. I am looking for a brochure, owners manual, spec sheet, and/or, any literature on this boat. Does anyone in the group have or know where I might go to get this? Thank you!

View the latest post intro

Hi
Proud new owner of a 2000 Carver 530 Voyager Pilothouse. The boat has been in fresh water its whole life and was barely used only 500 hours on the engines and 400 on the Kohler generator. Now that its being used every weekend i'm replacing a lot of stuff. Would appreciate joining a thread of similar owners to get some mechanical and replacement advise. We love it and it's on lake mead in a covered slip at Callville Bay
hope to meet other boaters here

cheers,
Glynn

View the latest post Attachment(s) Help with throttles

The boat we are purchasing (2002 396) has twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9's but the throttle controls are Volvo Penta. I'm not sure if this was a factory option, but as far as I know there have been no upgrades.

My question: The throttle control says "Electronic Diesel Control" but when I asked the broker he said that it was just cable operated (mechanical) and not electronic. So is this Volvo Penta throttle able to be setup as both an electronic version as well as a mechanical version? I read in the manual that the dual helm came equipped with an electronic throttles but this boat only has an upper helm on the flybridge.

I have scoured online looking for a photo of another similar year model 396 with Cummins engines AND a Volvo Penta throttle but have not seen that combo anywhere else. Anyone else have a similar setup?

Thanks for any help!!

Updating to include a photo of the integrated throttle/gear shifter on the boat (i.e. single lever controls).

View the latest post Attachment(s) Sea cock handle broke. Now what?

I have a 1999 Carver 350 Mariner with twin engines and my Starboard side seacock for my water inlet froze open. After several alternative steps to break it free, I had a slip neighbor use a little more leverage and broke off the brass handle. Luckily no water leakage but I'm assuming my only option at this point is to have boat taken out of water to replace or can this be done while in my slip? I've considered creating a temporary bypass valve in between the broken seacock and the sea strainer just so I can clean out my sea strainer and wait to remove boat from water to do other maintenance because of the extreme costs. Any other thoughts or ideas out there from the group would be appreciated?

Thanks

View the latest post Engine Alarm Help!

Hi All,
I own a 1999 Carver 350 Mariner with twin Mercruiser 5.7 Mercruiser 350 Mag Mpi engines. My port side engine has an engine alarm that starts beeping approximately 15 seconds after starting. Does anyone know how I can determine what this engine alarm is alerting me to? Is there anything I can reference to troubleshoot? Appreciate any feedback, thank you.

View the latest post Carver 2002 hull doors

Does anyone know who manufactured the small hull doors with a lifting mechanism to lock the door in place. Also is it true that carver went out of business?
