View the latest post Princess Stove Renew

Found this while thinking of ways to improve my cooking situation on the boat. I had been very seriously considering putting in a newer electric stove until someone here pointed out the amperage. Since then I have been strongly considering installing a propane set-up, and still am, but this link does give food for thought.

https://mvsoundtrek.blogspot.com/2019/05/renewing-old-princess-stove.html

If it weren't for the fact that my oven coil connections are rusted out on my Princess, I would really be thinking of installing this Mini Duo to refresh the galley with minimum cost.

So ive been running my boat in open water last few days and for an unknown reason will just shut off. Doesn't get hot, oil pressure looks norm, has gas. I can start it again within 5-10 mins and it will run for a while then shut off. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have twin Ford 351's in a 1976 Carver Mariner 2896

View the latest post 454 Gen 4 lifting ring

I am taking out my generation for generation for crusader 4 54 to be rebuilt.. One of the lifting rings is missing. The existing ring is installed on the starboard side of the engine towards the Stern. Does anyone know if the other ring should be installed at the opposite side of the engine so port side towards the bow?
In the attached picture you can see the existing ring and you can see where I took a bolt out to go size it next to the number one cylinder. Does anything know if this is the correct location for the ring? Had trouble finding information on it, online.
Thank you in advance
Looks like the picture isn't going to upload. The existing one is next to the number 8 cylinder starboard sternmost cylinder. Port bow most cylinder is number 1. Any help is much appreciated

View the latest post RPM's

I have been posting in several areas about my potential purchase of a 2000 450 Voyager and appreciate the response but here is another question that came out in the survey.

Has the 480 Volvo TAMD74P that are marked as 2600rpm max but during sea trial it would only achieve 2135 port and 2152 starboard.

I have read post about different props keeping boats from hitting top speed but I don't think over or under sized props would effect hitting to RPM's...

Looking for causes as to why it may not hit 2600, or is that not realistic in the 450 setup and should I be concerned over the lower RPM achievement?

Lots and lots of questions and I don't even own it yet!!!

Thanks

View the latest post 42 Carver Aft Cabin

Hello, I am new to the forum and just picked up a gas 1986 Aft Cabin from estate sale. Couple questions that hopefully a member can help answer. How are the fuel tank senders accessed? I see them on top of tank, but insufficient clearance to remove. Hatch under carpet? Behind wall panel? Where are drain plugs located in keel or bottom? Are engine room lights AC or DC? Where is switch located? Thanks for any assistance in getting her back on the water.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 1994 Carver 350 Aft Cabin - Replacement Drip Edge

I'm currently trying to look at replacing or refinishing the 1 inch aluminum drip edge that runs around the lower edge of my prow and the entire bottom edge of the aft deck hardcover. It appears to be made of aluminum screwed in every 6 inches to the fibreglass of both areas. It appears to have been powder coated which is worn off and corroded in a number of areas. Any info on if this was an original item and what other types of drip edge molding might be used. Does anyone have info on where I might find replacement or if I had it sandblasted the best way to refinish it. See the below image of this strip

View the latest post Attachment(s) Starlink Portability

Hmmm, this is getting interesting. Not that it is available yet for in-motion however the article does say they are working on it for RVs and boats. Definitely will jump on board when this happens. https://www.iclarified.com/85856/starli ... -from-home
