I have a 2001 450 Pilothouse. Has anyone found a LED bulb for the overhead salon lights?

Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Carver Tech Support

Hey Fellow Carver Owners,
I have owned a Carver since 1984. They range from a 28' to a 45'. Over the years I relied on the customer service department at Carver to assist me with many technical questions. They were always fantastic! Since they closed down, I have really missed their help. Has anyone heard of an after market tech support operation? Or maybe someone who worked at Carver who may have tech info. Also, as anyone found a place to order a tech manual.

Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Bow Thruster Batteries

I am sure that there are a number of members that have the VP QL Bow Thruster in your boat.

I have one and it is currently being powered by a single group 31 Cranking Battery. At the time I purchased the boat it appeared that they may have been 2 group 31 cranking batteries running the thruster. This would have been a 12 volt set up and not 24 v.

I would be interested in hearing views on the issue and what any of the members may have powering their Bow Thrusters. I have been considering getting a second battery, if thats what is required. The thruster seems to be working okay, however, I wonder if it would be more efficient with 2 batteries, not sure.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

View the latest post Attachment(s) ladder hardware

Hi,
I am looking for the hardware that holds the swim ladder to the boarding ladder of a 89 aft cabin. I have googled it but apparently I am not using the correct term.

Thanks
Mitch

This is kinda funny. Good thing is it can easily be removed if you choose or as it weathers.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Remove exhaust elbow on 325 Aft Cabin

Hello. I’ve removed and replaced 3 of the 4 exhaust elbows on the Crusader 350XLs in our 95 325 Aft Cabin. The fourth, the one on the far port side, I have no clue how to remove. There are two bolts in the front and two studs in the back. For the other three, I just removed the bolts and nuts and lifted them straight up off the studs. But the fourth sits about an inch under a non-removable support beam, with maybe a mm of clearance. I tried to see if I could pull it out towards me, while pulling up, but no joy. I’m guessing removing the studs, so it can slide out is the only option, but as there’s really only room for one nut on the studs, the trick of putting two nuts on the stud and rotating the bottom one won’t work.

Any other suggestions? There is almost zero clearance on the side to work with to get a pair of pliers on them. Right now I’m cursing at whoever at Carver thought that placing any part of an engine under an immovable object was a good idea, and coming to realize that the shop that replaced that engine a couple years back was right that it’s a real PITA to work on!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Fuel Tank for a 1987 4207

Does any one have the exact dimensions or maybe a link where Carver Yacht drawings specs could be found for a 1987 Carver 4207 gas fuel saddle tank.
I have what was provided to me from the former owner but the numbers do not allow for the proper 200 gal capacity and the boat is 3 hours away from me.
I am trying to get them to has a new tank fabricated to replace a leaky tank.
Thanks in advance for the help as always!
David
