View the latest post 97 carver 350 mariner - cover for bow bench seat

I’m looking for a cover for my bow bench seat. It was missing when I bought the boat. I was wondering if any knew of a place that would have one factory made before I find someone to make one. Any help would be appreciated

View the latest post How bad are blisters?

Am considering the purchase of a 2004 Carver 396. The boat has hull blisters below the waterline. Seller says they are caused by interaction between some chemical components in the gel coat and the fiberglass, as opposed to an indication of "waterlogged" fiberglass or other problem. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding such blisters? Do they create a hull weakness problem? Thanks for help.

View the latest post 440 - 4207 Different draft

Hello. does anybody know why the 440 draws 6" more water than the 4207. They look the same to me.
The 4207 specs say 3.5' and the 440 is 4'.
Thanks Sam

View the latest post Opinions on partner ownership

I am thinking about selling a half ownership of my boat. Are there people out here in CYO world that have been involved with that type of arrangement? Seems each year I am actually using the boat a little less, but enjoy having the space to use as home away from home. I know there are positives and negatives of partnership arrangements, so I am requesting that input from the CYO resource group. Years ago, I was in a joint ownership of a sailboat with my father-in-law. I felt obligated to invite the in-laws along every time I used the boat, although I did have occasion to want to be solo, or with other friends. While this is not financially motivated, it would be nice to cut maintenance expense in half. Really conflicted with this idea. Thoughts?????? 8-) er

View the latest post Stern thruster on 2008 59’ Marquis

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. Just purchased a 2008 59’ Marquis. The stern thruster motor is bad. There are no tags on motor and I have not had any luck getting any information. If anyone on this forum has any information on this stern thruster, I sure would appreciate it. Tunnel diameter, model, or motor specifications. Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) 1993 390 Cockpit Motoryacht with Cummins 6BT

Bought my third Carver last June. Prior owner used to spend months in the Bahamas and she is equipped with dual stations, solar cells, inverter, 2 radars, 3 chartplotters, 2 autopilots and enough spare parts to nearly rebuild her. First time with diesels and although they are only 210HP I really enjoy them. Spend most of the time getting 2.2nMPG at 8.5kn while I can cruise at 17 knots obtaining 1.0nMPG

View the latest post Attachment(s) Virtrifigo Fridge swap out

I have received my new Virtrifigo fridge to swap out with the original Norcold on my 1994 390CPMY. I pulled the Norcold out and saw the 120V AC line goes down under the floor. Is there a plug under there or does anyone kno9w if it goes to the breaker directly? I was thinking of disconnecting from the old Norcold nd reconnecting the new unit, leaving original working in place and utilizing it. 12V is no issue to swap out. VERY poor installation instructions! I did see what I believe was a drain for condensate, I would guess I funnel that into the bilge?

Thanks!

Tony

View the latest post Attachment(s) Re-Wired Radio/Audio system

Got my boat with two separate car radios, one in the salon for speakers on the main level - cockpit & interior, and another complete system on the fly bridge with 4 speakers above. Of course, by early season, both radios crapped out.
I bought a new JVC car radio for the salon. Had to solder new connector of course. While doing this, i split each of the 4 speaker outputs using a standard ethernet cable (the ethernet cable has 8 conductors, perfect!).
I ran the ethernet to the flybridge switch - a 4 throw switch at about $1 each. From the switch to the 4 speakers upstairs.
The radio is BT, we usually control via phone - pandora...etc. I have a switch to cut the flybridge audio (in case of an emergency, bad song..whatever).
So now, one radio for the vessel, with captain's kill switch. Easy peasy.
