View the latest post Kohler 10eozd Generator Under Voltage Code

Kohler 10eozd diesel gen set is setting under voltage code when first cranked and shutting down.
If I keep trying to crank, it will eventually (after maybe 5 or so times) run and operate fine.
Seems to be a bad (corroded) connection or something.
Any suggestions on where to look or what to look for would be appreciated.
The manual is not much help on this code other than call for service.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver 3307 33AFT Alternators upgrade

Hi

I have purchased a carver 33 AFT from a friend of mine who originally shipped the boat from the USA, so I know her history and have always admired her. She’s the perfect boat for us as a family with loads of space, especially on the Flybridge.

I’m looking to replace my two 12-volt 51-amp Prestolite alternators on my boat ( 1 left hand & 1 right hand)

The engine is a Crusader V-8 454 CID/7.4 Litre - Model 454. I would like to upgrade them to the highest amperage output possible, I have the physical room to do so, and my battery banks are 2 x 840 ah

I was looking at the 10SI as per link and image below as someone said they are compatible but would welcome your views/ recommendations

Thanks in advance Mark

View the latest post Maintenace Schedule Carver 406

I have just purchased a 1999 406 with Cummins diesels and although I was informed there was an up-to-date maintenance schedule of the vessel, it turns out the former owner has failed to make it available.

Is there a schedule of maintenance for this vessel that I can get hold of?

Thanks in advance,

RAW

View the latest post New owner in California

Hi all,

Just registered and am looking forward to learning all I can about our boat. It's a 1995 Carver 310 Santego. Twin Crusader 350 XL engines that had 346 hours on them when I drove the boat home on Feb 10. Bought from the second owner who had recently bought a bigger and new Carver. Seems to have taken very good care of it, but little things like some lights and the aft bilge pump will need to be replaced. I has that very mid 90's teal look to it. Have ordered a Boston Whaler 13.5" destroyer wheel to replace the original Carver wheel. We're now docked at the Sacramento Yacht Club. Wasn't looking for a flybridge boat and was preferring more of a Sundancer 320/340 style, but when I found this one with all the space (compare to our previous 1995 Regal 256 Commodore), we were sold. Plus the wife always wanted a FB. Just tinkering on it now. Removed the dinghy and davits and replaced all the drawer and door pulls with nautical themed ones. Took 13 people out yesterday for a dinner/cruise and it went well, but I think I'll limit to 10 in the future.

View the latest post Introduction

Well, if the survey goes well, I will be the owner of a 1994 Carver 370 Aft Cabin in a few weeks. So I want to say hello and thanks for the wisdom and insights that everyone puts on here. I spent time researching before I pulled the trigger of course. I am new to boating, at least one this large. I will be based out of Chattanooga, although I live about 30 miles south of Augusta,GA. and we go to TN to visit my daughter and family. Looking forward to traveling up and down the Tennessee River when I get more experience. I plan on taking courses and training offered at the marina. Anyone in the Chat area please reach out, I need all the advice I can get! Thanks again!

View the latest post Bomar N1039-10A Versus N1039-10P

Any real difference except the external hinges versus the internal hinges? I need one for my 1994390 and I see the external hinges are backordered, but the internal are available at Defender.

Looks like it would fit as measurements are the same and I doubt the boat would know the difference?

Best,

Tony

View the latest post replacing clear windows on flybridge

Hello,

After watching a few youtube videos I think I can do this!
My windows have been torn and trashed (Hurricane Dorian) the fabric potion looks like it can be saved.

My question is what is the best replacement (thickest roll up for the front and thickest/best for the sides?
I'm thinking the thicker the product the less it will show wrinkles.

I have searched this website and have yet to find these answers.

Thanks in advance :captain2:

View the latest post 1976 Mariner 2876 trim tabs

So I didn't find anything in the original manual about trim tabs. Im troubleshooting to see if there is an actual issue or im just not doong something right. What has to be on in order to operate the tabs? Engine running? Engine just turn to ACC? Just battery switch on the cranking battery? Should there be a long delay before they move? Fuse is fine. Thanks.

View the latest post VacuFlush compact bowl to elongated

Spending more and more time aboard our 1994 390CPMY means we need a more comfy head. We have 2 vacuflush units (truly think these are great and have had minimal issues. Has anyone use the bowl conversion kit to change from compact (read SMALL!) to a “deluxe” version for more comfort? I believe I could convert to a macerater type also, but looking to get out of it easier without reinventing the wheel.

View the latest post New owner has questions

Hi all! Glad I found this forum. I have purchased a 1989 Carver Santego and have plans to restore it. My survey says that the port blower is inoperative. Insurance wont cover it until repairs have been made. I looks like the starboard is the only side that has ever had an engine blower? Any ideas of how to find out if this is correct? The way it is vented the starboard will actually draw air/fumes, ect from both engines? Is there a way to get electrical schematics for this boat? Owners manual? Need to get verification for insurance or have another installed but that does not sound like the best answer...Thanks and spring is coming!
