View the latest post Wood stringers in 1991 3227?

Using a moisture meter, the surveyor determined there are hollow stringers in the 1991 3227 I am considering buying.

In reading previous topic posts, I remained confused. In 1991, was Carver still using wood stringers?

View the latest post PROPS - 21x22 4 blade pair, with 1 3/8" shaft size

https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/bpo/ ... 56948.html

This is NOT my ad but sharing it for anyone who might be looking for props, as I periodically see folks asking. If you wait till you NEED props they get real expensive and result in a lot of downtime while you're waiting to find them or have them shipped.

This appears to be a great price on some decent props. Even if they're off by an inch or so on diameter or pitch they'd make a great backup set for a boat in the 32-38 ft range. I had a three blade set that were an inch "too small" for my boat but they were great as a backup set and saved me twice when I dinged props. Just hauled, swapped props and was back in the water same day. Got the main ones reconditioned and put them back on when I hauled for the winter.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 1969 25’ Carver Project Boat on 1970 EZ Loader Dual Axel Trailer

Hello! New to the forum, mainly wanting to be a part to post for sale my dads Carver project boat. I figured this would be the best place to see if it would get interest from someone that would be interested to purchase it and possibly finish it.

My dad purchased this back in 8/15/82 with the intention of fully restoring it as a project boat. My mom and him worked on it for quite a while on and off until they unfortunately lost interest. My father has since passed and myself, along with my two brothers don’t live locally anymore and do not have the time or patience to finish it. So instead of letting it sit in the barn for another decade we would rather sell it to a good home that may, in time, get it back on the water.

It’s a 1969 25’ Carver on a 1970 dual axel EZ loader trailer. We have title in hand for both. As you can see from the pictures there was already a lot of work completed on it, but still needs quite a bit. It has the lower unit and gas tanks that come with it as well. It does not have a motor. It has always been in our barn - it hasn’t seen daylight or moved in probably 33 or so years.

Please feel free to reach out with questions - I will do my best to answer them or find an answer.

Make offer - located in Southern Illinois just west of Evansville, Indiana.

Thanks and looking and I look forward to finding the boat a new home.

View the latest post Attachment(s) SensaTank II Monitors & Sensors - Free

Sold

I have 2 each tank monitors that support fresh water and holding tank along with 3 sets of sensors that I removed from my 2009 44 Sojourn.
They are operational but had issues reading all the levels from my tanks.
Both would read 2/3 when full and 1/3 when 1/2 full.
I believe the problem I was having had to do with tank thickness and contamination in the holding tank.
Free (you pay shipping cost) to good home if anyone needs them.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 444 air filter tamd63

I have a 2004 444. I was wondering if anyone has changed the airfilters part # 3825038. They are located on the top starboard side of the engines. Ut says that you can clean them using diesel oil. Does anyone have any hints or suggestion on this function. see attached photo of the part.

thanks in advance

View the latest post Buying a 4207 motor yacht 1986 I need advice

Buying a 4207 motor yacht 1986 I need advice

Hey guys I’m Ken from Dallas
My past boats have been a 32 foot pacemaker 31 foot sea ray 38 foot Uniflite fly bridge and the very last one was a 480 Chris-Craft aft cabin with a cockpit that was in exceptional condition
I have found a freshwater 4207 1986 with crusader gas engines that is very very nice
I have owned big boats for 30 years and I’ve been super impressed with this boat I’m overpaying for the boat but I feel like it’s one out of 100 as I’ve looked at numerous boats
I have made an offer and it’s been accepted but have not started the survey process yet

Until this evening I was 99% sure that this was a boat for me but I read an article I’ve heard about online about surveys where a guy was trashing anything that was balsa cored sides and especially the hull because of water intrusion and problems . He puts Sea rays right there with the carvers
I gotta tell you it made me wanna throw up reading it
My wife is not on board with this deal as she does not like the older style flush deck yacht . I’m 58 and she’s 41 she did not grow up appreciating this older style of boat
to her it’s just an old boat
We Currently Have a super nice 2001 regal 3780 flybridge boat with original 420 horse MerCruiser With 200 hours on the motors and 150 hours on the generator but it’s in mint
condition with no issues . This boat is in mint condition but small inside
This carver 4207 is in really great shape with a much newer generator / hardwood floors / The nicest new house style vacu flush toilets I’ve ever seen with new vacuum pumps along with newer holding tanks .
The interior and exterior is super nice .
the boat belongs to an 80 something year old man that's had some health issues of the last year
the engine compartment is really nice and clean / organized as well. one engine has been replaced years ago everything works ( the Marina close by told me about the motor replacement not the gentleman )
The boat also has something I believe is really rare a factory hard glass enclosure on the back .
I’ve seen newer Q1995 45 carvers with a glass enclosure but never one on an older 42 like this
the 45 carvers the door didn’t shut right nothing was right .
I was not impressed with the newer 45 carver at all
on this boat everything is like it supposed to be all the glass opens like it’s supposed to the wing doors open and shut like they’re supposed to have seen nothing scared me from his boat so far other than a soft swim platform .
I can’t stress enough that I’ve looked at a lot of boats in my
30 years and this one’s a nice one

Can you guys give me some advice here I’m kind of freaking out after reading that article

Thanks Ken in Dallas
