New to Carver ownership so this may be a dumb question.
Where is the fitting located for seawater wash. Owner guide only says aft deck or cockpit. No graphic I can find indicating location.
Thanks!

I have a 1986 32 Mariner with a windlass switch issue. I cannot find the breaker.
I have been told that there may be another panel other than the main panel in the cabin.
Appreciate any help

View the latest post Attachment(s) Ignition - Push button Keypad - Lockout?
- Posted by: TomO » July 12th, 2021, 9:33 pm
- Forum: Electrical
Hi. Thanks for reading this post.
I have a 2001 396 MY. I have Horizon gas engines. I have the push button coded starting mechanism as opposed to a key.
My port side engine is not starting, but my starboard side engine using the same Style keypad, which is run, then start - starts right up. To give it some background, the starboard engine will give a beep when you hit the run button, then you hit start and the engine turns over. The port engine on the other hand, does not beep at all. When you hit run, start, there is completely nothing.
The starting system seems like it is locked out on the port side, as if there is no power going to the keypad.
I also have a a parallel switch, which I used just to try to see if I was not drawing enough volts on the batteries to start the engine. I am getting in excess of 15V on the batteries, but nothing is getting to the keypad.
Can anyone provide any suggestions as to what this might be.
Thanks,
Tom

I have 454 XLi Crusader engines with Velvet V Drives. They start and run great. When returning to my dock I have a couple of 90 degree right turns and by reversing my starboard engine for the turn I've stalled out that engine a few times. Any suggestions for a fix?

View the latest post Need some help with a Davit....
- Posted by: RussL » July 12th, 2021, 1:23 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
My 2000 Carver 396 has this tilt up davit.

When I purchased the boat last summer it had a 8' rib with an 8hp merc. It was in terrible shape so I found a 11' Rendova with with a 25hp Honda. I picked it up and I have been really happy with it. One issue.... I didn't even think about weight. It is exceptionally heavy. It is difficult to say exactly what it weighs because Rendova information is difficult to find but my estimation is about 700-750lbs wet weight.
This isn't mine, but it is the same tender....
https://boats-from-usa.com/sites/default/files/boats/not-specified/127921/not-specified-1454671.jpg
The davit had an old 1500lb winch on it so I replaced it with a champion 3000lb winch from amazon and replaced the 3x4 stainless backer plate with a 9x19 1/2 aluminum plate to take some stress off the back wall of the boat.
After only 9 months the clutch failed Dropping my tender 3 feet and then dropping the winch into the salt water. I am going to replace the winch but I am not sure what to buy. Does anyone have any a suggestion on what I should buy and what size?
I called Warn and they told me I need to buy a hoist not a winch but that seems wrong. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Russ

View the latest post Attachment(s) Battery Bank / Bilge Wiring
- Posted by: hinzee623 » July 12th, 2021, 11:20 am
- Forum: Electrical
My next project is to re-wiring my bilge pumps, install battery trays and just perform a little house keeping on my battery bank. It would appear that it has been DIY'ed a few times. My question to the community, especially if its similar to mine; how does you're battery bank look? Wired? currently my system is 3-Deep Cycle batteries (27, 24, 4 group). I have solar as well, not sure where it goes, i.e. which battery is being charge. I can't trace back to what battery is being used as a starter/crank. I think two batteries are wired in series. So I would like to make it nice and neat and more manageable. Thoughts?
As for my bilge pump, existing, there is NO float switches for my three engine compartment bilges. The bilges switch are manual, and located under the salon floor. So, my project is to installed three NEW bilge switch (S1, S2, S3,) some where in the salon. Install three new float switches, and I want it to be wired to one common buss that runs all the bilges. See my one line diagram. I believe its a solid layout/design. If anyone has thoughts or lessens learned, would like to know your opinions.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Water in fuel
- Posted by: Petemait » July 12th, 2021, 9:09 am
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I have been struggling with fuel issues since i bought my boat last year mainly due to water in the fuel.
One of the tanks is now in decent shape with only slight issues and the other still has some definite water.
Im, wondering if i should bite the bullet and have the tank totally pumped out, or if i should try adding a bunch of heet to the fuel to see if that will solve the problem. Does anyone here use heet in their fuel?
I have a single crusader 454.
Appreciate any advice!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Re-Naming Project
- Posted by: hinzee623 » July 12th, 2021, 7:50 am
- Forum: The Project Center
I bought the boat as New Beginnings, great name, fitting name too, but I wanted to name it something more near and dear to me. What better name than after man's best friend! My dog's name is Ghost. The Hampton NH was decals, so just scraped those off with a puddy knife and Goof Off. New Beginnings was a little more work since it was painted on. A combo of paint thinner, Goof Off and 60 & 220 grit sand paper did the trick (no damage to the gel coat). Followed by a coat of Maguires color restorer, then a coat of West Marine Wax Restorer as the final prep. Best I could do, to offset the UV discoloration.
Decal install pretty self explanatory, little water/soap spray prior to sticking and a lot of patience to follow!
Staying true to tradition/superstition, I had a denaming and renaming ceremony!
Decal was from https://doityourselflettering.com/vinyl-lettering/

View the latest post Attachment(s) 320 Voyager a/c ducting
- Posted by: SeattleMatt » July 11th, 2021, 6:49 pm
- Forum: AC/Heat, Plumbing & Sanitation
new to me Carver Voyager 320. The AC unit is located in the starboard side bench seat. However deducting that goes in the seat just goes from one side to the other and looks like it's factory installed that way everything's connected and clean with insulation around it. the AC unit itself has no ducting connected to it whatsoever. Does anyone with the Carver 320 have a similar setup that can send me a picture of how this is supposed to be? This doesn't seem right
