We recently purchased a 1995 355 Aft Cabin, and are on the Tennessee River near Knoxville. We have had a few "older" boats and just like the feel a classic. The Carver 355 is no exception. The boat looks to be in great shape with only a few minor issues to sort out - typical for an older boat. I was glad to find a Forum that focuses just on Carver, which is another "Plus". Happy boating to all!

View the latest post Cruisers Buys Carver Facility

Cruisers Yachts parent company KCS International said it has bought the former Carver and Marquis yacht facility, a 216,000 square-foot, purpose-built manufacturing space that will allow the company to significantly expand production.

The Pulaski, Wis. facility is about 30 miles from KCS headquarters in Oconto, located in an area with a seasoned boatbuilding workforce — the company said that they anticipate hiring about 150 crew at the Pulaski facility and adding 75 people in Oconto.

“The opportunity to acquire this world-class facility will allow us to meet customer demands and expand our very aggressive new product development schedule,” KCS president Mark Pedersen said in a statement. “With the recent addition of MarineMax as a new dealer in select markets, we needed this facility to increase our production.”

KCS did not specify what models would be shifted to its new facility; the 68-year-old builder produces 16 models from 33 to 60 feet.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Kitchen upgrade in progress

Been awhile. Busy year to say the least. One of these days I will post before/after of all project completed. But for now this one is almost completed project. Replaced the original oven/stove top with Ninja XL oven and induction top. This did require some cabinet modification. Major improvement though is the sink. The existent sink was so small you could hardly wash your hands in it without having water all over the place. Got it from amazon, perfect size and fit. I also got filtered faucet (have not installed yet), and replaced the original faucet with the one seen. This weekend I will hook up the filtered water faucet next to that. The only down side is the sink is bit deeper than original, so need to make some mods to the drawer, which no longer fits as is. Anyway if anyone would like I can list the details of the parts I purchased with links. Also once completed in next week or two, I will put up better pictures of the completed project.

My 1998 Mariner is showing a dull no luster look arch. Any suggestions for improvements? Has anyone repainted and if so with what paint?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Wash down spigots - help

Ok, on my 2001, model 356 (and I'm sure other models as well) I have wash down spigots both at the anchor pulpit and on the aft deck.
The plastic handle on one has broken and the other one is not far from it.
Where can I get these handles. Best I can determine, it is a square 5/16 Sillcock.
I bought a universal Sillcock key that works but can not be permanantly attached. At least I can turn the water on and off when needed, but I would like a permanant handle.

View the latest post Flying colors or colours

Have to replace some parts of the interior of our 1992 26 / 28 sedan it's a kind of vinyl with foam backing. I found something similar but would anybody know what the color tint is? Is it simply off-white. We have universal color codes (RAL) here but if anyone has the US equivalent of that it may help me get a product that matches.

The biggest part is in the head so a difference is no big deal there as I pretty much replace a complete wall. But also have to replace some damaged or missing parts elsewhere and then the match is more important.

Similar question to the polyester outside. After removing a layer of dirt/oxydation it comes out white but not blistering white, some off-white. Any pointers appreciated.

Finally the wooly material elsewhere inside: took a part off that was glued to thin hardboard that rotted away. Got it a few tints lighter after soaking in some soaps but can't do that inside the boat. Any tips on how to clean this material?

View the latest post Attachment(s) 1989 454 (7.4) no water

Hey fellas, I just swapped the impeller and the port engine still isn’t flowing water out the exhaust. The hose going into the impeller housing was running water just fine. Now what? Does this thing have a water pump too? Not sure what to check next?
