View the latest post I can"t find my seacock!

:banghead: I just bought this boat. I flushed the toilet when I got onboard and it sprayed me in the face! I am not getting water to the bathroom so I assume my valve is closed. I have looked and looked and I cannot find it. I do not know if this is a fresh water system or what. It is a 1993 carver express. I know it is stupid of me but due to my parents health it's where I live and everything has happened so fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Too Many Zincs???

Hello crew. I hope all is well.
At the end of last season I posted a few images of what seems to be some sort of corrosion issue around any thru hull component on my 36 ft. Mariner. Most folks suggested that it may be a 'bonding' issue.
Yesterday as I am preparing for a new season, we checked the bonding and the ohmmeter readings showed that the bonding does seem to be concurrent to the engine block and back to the stern zinc.
I do recall in a fairly recent post that our resident expert 'Viper' suggested that 'over zincing' can cause additional problems. Praytell....
can this be the issue with my boat.
I have the following zincs in place, again she's a 36: bow thruster, 2 zincs per shaft, one 5" zinc on each tab and the 'zinc block' on the stern.
The only difference this past season is that I put 'heavy' gauge zincs on the shaft. The zincs that experienced the most 'pitting' and wear seem to be the pieces on the trim tabs.
My mechanic suggested that he has seen this before and attributed it to conditions with the 'dock' and stray current, etc. He doesn't know if anything is wrong with the boat and is not familiar with 'over zincing'. The marina workers think its a boat issue.
What say you? All feedback is appreciated and thank you.

View the latest post '96 370 Voyager Head Sink Drain

Just de winterized the fresh water system on our new to us 1996 370 Voyager and discovered pink antifreeze in the forward bilge. In reviewing the owners guide it appears there is no through hull drain for the head sink, which I assume is because the sink drain is bellow the water line, but why drain it to the bilge for the bilge pump to pump out and not the shower sump? Was this how Carver intended the system to work? or has a previous owner taken a shortcut?

I'm inclined to plumb the sink drain to the shower sump if possible as I'd like to have a dry bilge.

TIA

Ken

View the latest post prop size question

I have a 32' voyager, twin 350 crusaders that hit WOT at 4200-4300, cruises ok at 3600 but likes 3800 the best at about 18 knots. OEM says 18x18, but on the boat for the 5 years I have owned her are 18x19. However, in a box when I bought the boat are 18x21, wondering why and how would the boat perform with those on? Im ok with overall performance, would like to see it get on plan sooner, but thinking these would not help. Thoughts?

View the latest post 1989 Mariner 32 side window resealing

Gents, I am about to start resealing my side windows on my Mariner 32. The weather seems to be just right now in NC. Has anyone done this yet? I was wondering if I need to remove the inside white panels around the windows in the salon? I was planning on removing just the exterior screws from the window frame, having a few putty knives to remove the old sealant and butyl tape and pull the frame off. Is the inside necessary? Please advise.

View the latest post New NJ member, first Carver, C37

Hi everyone! Great to be here. We’re taking delivery of our “new to us” 2017 C37 next month. Very excited! Volvo Penta D4’s, shafts.
If there is anyone out there with same power configuration, would love to hear performance numbers. Best cruise, fuel burn.
Will be taking it from northern MI to NJ on its own bottom late next month.

View the latest post scupper replacement

1994 390CPMY. One of the scupper flaps has broken off. It is a strange one inasmuch as it is secured by a screw in an "ear" at the top to allow it to move in and out. Any ideas?

View the latest post Camera for Ray e127

I have on my 390CPMY Raymarine QII radar, e127 and e97 displays and a Ray Autopilot. I am looking to add a camera to the rear to aid in docking as it is hard to see from the bridge. Are there any cameras to your knowledge that will work besides the FLIR ir cameras? Not looking to break the bank here. Thank you.
