View the latest post Walter 26D Oil pressure switch
- Posted by: Torsson » April 13th, 2021, 2:44 pm
- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
Hello. I am pretty sure my V-drive low oil pressure warning switch is dead on my Carver 28 Voyager with Walter 26d. If i understand these correct the switch is closed under 2psi and the light is on and over 2psi the light turns off.
If i take the wires off the switch and put the leads together the light is on, Is this how it works and safe to say that the pressure switch is bad?. And now to the boring part, to get one of these shipped to me will be 100+$ with part+shipping+customs etc. has anyone used something else?, some aftermarket part that could work?.
If there is an alternetive maby i can get it in sweden
The part number seems to be: Indmar Part Number 903004S

Hello All,
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on ideal plane RPM. What could be an expected speed at that RPM
Thanks

So after the long cold winter I filled the water tank and started flushing all the water lines. When I opened up the forward head and flushed it I noticed a horrible smell. When I opened the access panel, I noticed waste leaking on the top of the tank from around the tank level sensors. Is that just a bad gasket or do I have other problems. Thanks

- Posted by: Thekaj » April 12th, 2021, 11:58 pm
- Forum: Electrical
Last summer we managed to blow an engine on our 1995 325 Aft Cabin. One of the things the mechanic noted when he was done was that he had switched the battery switch to off and still got shocked. With electrical not being my forte, I called in another mechanic a couple weeks ago, who decided that the (two battery) switch had just worn out, and stuck on. He walked me through how to replace it, and I decided it was simple enough. Got the new one, transferred the wiring one at a time, making sure the all went on the same poles. Switched it to off, and all the DC stuff still stayed on, including being able to crank the engines.
I plan on going back down with a multimeter to do a bit more scientific testing, but any thoughts on what the issue might be? It’s not exactly a complicated system. Besides the battery cables themselves, each battery pole has a voltmeter wire attached, and that’s it (bilge pumps attach at the batteries). Neither the mechanic nor I can see any odd bypassing going on. My only thought is that maybe someone mixed up the cables at some point and swapped one of the battery cables with the output. I just don’t know how that would still make “off” not work.

My 1985 Carver 3207 has original trim tab buttons. Is there a way to easily add an indicator for trim tab positions? Or do I have to buy a whole new system of sensors, actuators, etc.?

View the latest post How to connect heads to freshwater tanks?
- Posted by: Superg » April 12th, 2021, 5:07 pm
- Forum: AC/Heat, Plumbing & Sanitation
My 1985 3207 draws raw water into the toilet bowls. I meanwhile have two giant freshwater tanks that rarely get used, and nasty harbor water filling my toilet with e coli and everything else that gets washed into our waters these days. Makes sense to use the nice clean freshwater from my holding tanks to flush the bowls.
My toilets appear to be Raritan PH PowerFlush or 1980s equivalent.
I understand the following:
1. There needs to be an "air gap" between the fresh water system and the toilet in order to prevent bacteria from migrating into the fresh water system unless you have a special, commercial product
2. There is a Raritan system for about $220 called "Fresh Head Conversion Kit". NO info on the Raritan site, but it appears to still be a viable product.
Does anyone have experience with the Raritan kit or other home-built solution that fits the requirements of #1?
Thanks, John

I just replaced the rusted Raritan water heater on my 1985 3207 with a new Kuum water heater. Easy replacement for the most part. I would now like to connect it to the engine to heat water while in route. Does anyone know where I am supposed to make this connection on the engine(s)? Thanks, John
