View the latest post How to clean the props & rudders

My Riv is in my yard, wrapped for winter, and I am getting a little tired of being locked down, peering out the kitchen window at her, thinking up new boat names. Also, the rudders and props aren't looking nice and clean and shiny like the rest of the boat. Should I be working on cleaning and shining them up? They are rough to the eye and to the touch. What is the favored method to maintain them? What products or power tools to ease the elbow?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Model Number

Hello, New Carver owner and new member. Great board btw...

Now for a dumb question. I am unsure what model number boat I have or where to find that info.

I purchased a 1991 Carver 33 aft cabin. Where would I find that info?

Thanks in advance.

Ray...

View the latest post Attachment(s) New Member 23 Montego

Hello all!
I am a new member. I bought an 89 23 Montego at the end of November and am slowly saving it from the brink of rotting away. I am looking forward to getting some good advice for the restoration from you all. The picture is from the day I picked it up. It took myself and someone else about three and a half hours just to pull it out of the woods! The entire boat has been cleaned and the interior has been stripped since this pic was taken. It is a relatively small boat compared to a lot I have seen on here, but this is my first cruiser (nowhere near my first boat lol). Its great to be on here!

View the latest post New member!

Hi all!

new member and new adventure starting this spring with the purchase of an old Carver 2807 1986 (first boat ever). Survey and engine inspections will be conducted in April once the weather gets warmer. Both engines, Cruisader 220 have less than 300 hours;) Until spring, I have a lot of time to read more content from this great forum;)

I now have to find a marina for this summer;)

View the latest post Attachment(s) Dingy Davits

Does anyone have experience with the Hurley H30 davit system? I am looking to for something that will allow me to leave me outboard on the boat. Provide a reasonable launch and retrieval, and allow access to the swim platform when the dingy is in the water.

Thanks for your comments

Pack some warm gear, looks like snow coming! Reason I am doing this??? Always trying to help fellow Carver owners have a great time! And, I miss the fun of parking cars at LA-LA-La LAMBEAUUUUUU! Good luck Bucs! 8-) er

View the latest post Attachment(s) 2004 396MY Salon AC Replacement

Hello,

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I will be replacing the Salon AC unit in my 396MY as my old one gave up the ghost. I have found a suitable replacement from MarinAir but am having trouble determining how to get the old unit out and the new one in.

My salon layout is he extended salon with a dinette on the STBD side. The AC unit is located behind the entertainment center on the STBD side by the aft cabin stairs There is an access panel next to the stairs going down to the aft cabin but it is not big enough to extract the old unit.

I suspect that I may need to remove the entertainment center, but don't see how. It appears to be connected to a wrap around piece of countertop that runs behind the STBD couch. The countertop has a seam with a wood moulding that appears to be glued in place so speration could be a challenge. Also, the base of the entertainment center houses the central vac.

I have gone through the user manuals and the parts assembly documentation for the 396MY but have not been able to find any guidance.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tim
