View the latest post Fuel Filler Hose Replacement 2002 564 CPMY

This is our first Carver and to our knowledge, the fuel fill hoses have not ever been replaced. We believe that they may be cracked because we smelled diesel in the salon but mostly in the aft master stateroom after about an hour after refueling. We only filled the tanks to about 2/3 full, so it isn't due to overfilling. I suspect that the hose(s) are cracked, but the access to replace them seems nearly impossible to get to. Are there any methods/tricks that I am missing to get to them? The issue seems to be particularly related to the starboard mid fuel tank. The fill hose seems to be sandwiched between the outer hull wall and the outer salon wall so that the fill opening is on the top of the railing wall...if that makes sense.
Any help would be appreciated as we really don't want to operate the vessel until this is solved!

View the latest post 5.7 water pump

I have a 3207 with two 5.7L inboards, using fresh water (closed circuit) cooling. Do I need engine
water pumps from Crusader or will automotive application suffice?

Thanks

View the latest post Shaft bearings Carver 360

I have a 2004 Carver 360 with VolvoPenta TAMD41 engines, I want to replace the bearings in the strut, but I can't find a manufacturer with such dimensions. Does anyone know what kind of bearings Carver install? Shaft diameter is 2" and outside Diameter about 2 7/16"

View the latest post New to me 396

Greetings, I bought a 2001 396 in Oct. It was left on a lift and has been neglected. However it has low hour Cummins 5.9's and a nice genny. The prior owner ditched the bimini top and the windshield. I want to get it back to original.

View the latest post New Carver owner

Hi all,

Back in April 2023 we purchased our first launch in Kerikeri in the far north of New Zealand and have relocated it to the lovely Marlborough Sounds in the top of our South Island.

Big learning journey on the travel down our East Coast and a lot to learn in both the boats handling and engineering!

This boat was imported into Australia with petrols but re powered in 2011 with Yanmar 4LHA-STP on Hurst V drive’s.

Yet to see if it is correctly propped as was some anomalies with the engine installs after the removal of petrols.

Watch this space.

Regards Mark

View the latest post Attaching bridge surround on 3207

Hi, In need of some advice. Last week my 1983 3207 arrived here in Fl. after being transported down from Ct. Unfortunately due to the height of the boat and the low clearance of bridges in the northeast , the bridge surround had to be removed and stowed on the foredeck. I am now ready to begin reattaching everything and want to be sure it's done correctly. To that end what sealant would be best for the screws that secure it to the deck? And as there was old sealant/caulk all around the base where the surround meet the deck what would be best to use so as to have a good , watertight seal? And should it be sealed after the surround is attached or put a bead along the deck and then lower the surround into place and seal again along the exposed exterior. I've seen a few different marine sillicone sealants on line but was wondering if anyone had ever done something similiar. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice. Matt.
