View the latest post 1989/1990 Carver 3207 aft cabin Portlights

Does anybody know of a manufacturer / supplier that may still have replacement portlights for a 1989/1990 carver 3207 aftcabin. Some of mine are cracking, and need replacement to secure them. I'm looking for either the inner lens or complete units.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver 3607 door slides

My cabin sliding door going downstairs has always been tougher then I like when pulling it shut or opening it up, so I pulled it off last weekend and found a broken plastic slide that was probably making it tough. Also I wanted to refinish the door but there are just to many deep scratches in the wood top veneer so I am building a new door.

Finding the slides and tracks I need has been kind of tricky. Has anyone dealt with this on a 3607?
I will attach a pic of some door track and slides I found online but I would like other options. Any opinions on this? Some type of linear slide I think would work best but I dont know what to search online!

View the latest post Do I need AIS - navigation upgrade

I'm working on upgrading my navigation on my Carver Mariner.

I boat mainly on Lake Ontario around the Rochester, NY area. There is not a lot of commercial traffic around here, well there is one Large ship that comes and goes out of here every month or so. I don't think that charter fishing boat broadcast AIS.

Currently on my boat, I have a small Garman 535 gps with no map detail downloaded for my area. It tells me my speed and where I've been - bread crumb lines. I also have depth gauge that tells only my depth. I have a GPS VHF radio (non AIS).

I brought this boat back from Ohio using my smart phone with Navionics app. Worked great but makes it hard to use my phone for other things. Not to mention it's on of the smaller screened smart phones.

My thoughts where to buy an older Ipad 4th Generation (with cellular has built in GPS). I was going to install a wifi sonar sender that will overlay depth and temp info onto my Navionics app running on the Ipad. (I was going with Wi-Fish or Sonar Phone).

My questions is do I need to add AIS to my system?

I plan on taking some trips across the lake to Canada and maybe down the lake to the Thousand Islands.

View the latest post Crack in the motor block

I recently purchased a 1989 Carver Montego 2755 and was told by my mechanic that it has a crack in the block. I don't know much about boat motors so I'm asking for input on what I should do and guidance on what replacement motor I can buy. I want to make sure the mechanic doesn't rip me off. As far as I know my boat has a Volvo Penta 270hp motor in it currently.

View the latest post Carver 445

I just bought a 1999 445 and the boat is 500 miles from me so I can't answer this question.
Do these boats come from Carver with a isolation transformer?
And where is it located?
Thanks
