View the latest post Custom Underwater Lights.

I have experimented with a few different varieties over the years starting with halogen before LED even existed and they all have worked well. One thing I have learned is it is nice to have lots of lumens however those do get cost prohibitive if you are looking at some of the brand names and to be honest with you, a huge ripoff for what one gets. I just built some new ones for installation next spring. They have threaded holes in the base which will be secured with 2 SS bolts to the top of the trim tabs. 2 will point directly behind and 2, 45º to each side. Used 50w cob leds which I set into a custom machined housing and encased them in resin. made 4 of them which equates to a total of 200watts of led light or about 16,000 lumens if you prefer. Used these which are 12v so no special transformers or driver required. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/50W-COB-LED-Ultra-Bright-Warm-Pure-White-blue-Red-Round-LED-COB-Lamp-Chip-On/32799398595.html?src=google&albslr=222531033&isdl=y&aff_short_key=UneMJZVf&source=%7Bifdyn:dyn%7D%7Bifpla:pla%7D%7Bifdbm:DBM&albch=DID%7D&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&isdl=y&albcp=658707750&albag=38901860132&slnk=&trgt=61865531738&plac=&crea=en32799398595&netw=g&device=c&mtctp=&gclid=CjwKCAiAmb7RBRATEiwA7kS8VKrVxEakWTlaetlypjP1mxzlDDYotFZLYioxRaqZaaKjiOeRO6WuTRoCb-cQAvD_BwE

Waterproof T connectors so I end up with a single wire going through the transom to supply power. They are a little better than an inch thick and 5" in diameter. Should illuminate the depths quite well to say the least. Total cost is under $100 for all 4 however I do have access to a machine shop so the machining is free.

Any suggestions on cleaning the exterior outside carpet? i would like to start using it but when I purchased the boat it was dirty and looks worn. I was also thinking of dying it and would like to hear from anyone that did that as well.

View the latest post Jabsco Spotlight LED Conversion

It's winter cold and the snow has not come yet and I'm bored so boat projects come to mind. I want to convert the Jabsco spotlight to the LED variety however the boat is inaccessible and wearing shrink.

My project is simply to replace the sealed beam housing with an aftermarket LED one however I do not know if the beam used is actually a standard size 4 x 6. I know Jabsco sells replacement sealed beams however there is no mention of physical size. Want to use something like this.

Model is a Jabsco 146SL like this. http://www.xylemflowcontrol.com/marine- ... hlight.htm

View the latest post Attachment(s) Fresh Water System Pump

I would like to replace my fresh water's holding tank pump with a new pump. My current pump works fine, but it is making some noise and I would like to replace it. I looked and there are millions of pumps out there. What is the best pump to get?

I want something super quiet and powerful.

Thanks

View the latest post New Carver owner

Howdy all!!! Glad to find this site as I am a new Carver owner. Been a boater all of my life.
My parents recently passed away, 6 months apart.
They left us an '87 Carver Mariner. Need manual that fits that boat as I cannot find theirs as of yet.
Have questions on removing contents of septic tank. Yes, there is stuff in there. Tried the other day and couldn't get it to work. Probably missing one small detail. Familiar with motor home systems, can;t be much different. Can someone help please?? Tried to download manual thru this site but it wants me to download software I am not familiar with by name and don't trust strange software. Thank you,

Rog

View the latest post Attachment(s) New owner 1985 Carver 3607

Hello all,

I purchased my 3607 about 3 months ago. This is my first purchase of a cruiser. I am doing the live aboard thing and I am loving it. However, the weather is turning and keeping the cabin heated is more of an issue than I anticipated. The previous owner said that the space heater they used was sufficient, but I am not finding that to be the case. I tried using additional space heaters, but that keeps tripping the breakers. Anyone have a suggestion. Thanks, in advance.

Mike

View the latest post 87 carver 270 santego

I recently bought my first carver a 270 santego flybridge.
I bought it at the end of the season, after a watertest I had to winterize and store it.
The guy I bought it from bought it on a spur of the moment didnt know nothing about it and used it twice.
The holding tank for the toilet waste is under the toilet?
I was told there is another holding tank..to transfer for pumpout?.
Also for my water onboard is there a switch like the one in my bayliner somewhere I could not find it?.
Thank you for any info or where to find info on my boat.
