New member of the forum but longtime admirer of Carver motor yachts!! After years of following, hoping to locate a 33 aft cabin or a 350 aft cabin by Spring 2018 somewhere in the Ohio/Michigan region! Will dock on the Great Lake Erie, Port Clinton area. Purchased our 3807 in June and have had the summer of our lives! The learning curve has been a bit steep, however, she is an extremely comfortable vessel and is in great shape. Lake Texoma is wonderful and we have met a lot of great folks. Could not be happier with the boat or for having embarked on this experience!

- Forum: Diesel Engines/Transmissions
Hello everyone.
Does anyone know if a remote belt driven raw water pump is available for the Cummins 5.9 BT6 Diesel engine.
I have no trouble changing the starboard engine pump but cannot get to the port engine pump on my 405, just not enough space between engine and fuel tank. Have thought of squeezing under the engine from the front but don't know if I will ever get out.
Would be grateful for any help.

Just pulled it off my 1991 4207. works fine as I had the motor rewound and repacked the bearings. Even the chain counter works

When I was winterizing I saw water in the glass bowl on one racor filter. I drained the water and it looks like it filled with fuel
I will not start engines until spring, Volvo TAMD 75 EDC 2006 Caver 46MY. I drained the filter after I winterized the engine
Did I drain water correctly by just using the drain valve at the bottom?
I will change filter elements in spring

- Forum: General Boating Discussion
Hi there! New to the forum. We're looking to purchase a 1988 3807 Aft. We have an offer on one but survey isn't going so well and I'm heartsick. Improper blocking has caused damage to the keel ($4k repair) and there is worse damage on the bow pulpit area including area around windlas and deck, estimating $10-$15k to repair.
Trying to see if buyer will reduce price to absorb some of cost... if we proceed. We're new to this and not sure if this is normal stuff for a boat of this age.wondering if the repair will make it look as good as new or should we walk and keep looking.
Any advice?

Hello
I am buying a 1999 Carver 445 and would like to locate a matching helm seat for the bridge.
We will be traveling 6000 + miles on the great loop and want my wife to be as comfortable as I am during om our journey.
Can anyone help me with this search ?

Hi,
I just purchased a 370 voyager and it has four group 27 batteries split into two banks of two. I'm not sure I understand why. It seems like there should be a house bank and a starting battery.
I'm considering adding a new starting battery (bank 1) and linking the four group 27 deep cycles into bank 2 for 12v use. There is no inverter on the boat, so I just have to power the LED bulbs and fridge as well as charge phones.
There is also a genset onboard with its own starting battery.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
One of the off season projects this year is exhaust risers. I'm replacing them on my 1998 Crusader 454 XLi engines based on age. I did have the starboard risers off when I purchased the boat and they were in serviceable condition at the time but, I'll feel better knowing they're new next season. In the past on different boats I've used both OEM and aftermarket parts. I tend to want to spend the extra for OEM for a lot of different reasons but my experience with aftermarket has always been positive. For those who have done the job, I'm interested in where you purchased parts and was the quality good if you used aftermarket?

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to find suitable replacement trim rings for the recessed lighting on my 2000 350 Mariner. So far I have figured out that the light fixtures are Hera E1 and they have discontinued the lights and parts. I did find https://www.eclectic-ware.com/hera-lighting/er1-es1-ecoline-halogen-lights-and-kits.html still sells new fixtures with trim rings but they don't have any parts anymore. Anyone know where I can find these without buying a $22 fixture?
