View the latest post New Carver owner

Hi, Just bought a new to me, 2005 38SS.
Long time boater, new to Carver.
Hoping to find specific info on the various idiosyncrasies of the boat!
Just about to head up the Hudson next week for a fall foliage trip and I'm sure I'll come back with lots of questions after an extended time on the boat

View the latest post Mariner 350 a/c upgrade

I have a 1999 350 mariner needing a A/c refit. Stock unit is 16,500btu unit mounted under the front dash. It seems to be way undersized. I noticed the newer 360's moved to at least a 20k unit. Has anyone done an upgrade that they were satisfied with? I really don't want to have to do this twice..haha

Thanks Bobby

View the latest post Interior lighting

Looking at a 1999 Carver 406 and almost every interior light lens is broken or missing. Need to replace the lenses and while I am at it the halogen bulbs with LED's. Can anyone tell me where to purchase the lenses and LED's?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Free addition to couch platform to anyone interested

Long story - short:
Wife has bad knees (just had left one replaced) and the couch in our '94 , 370 Aft cabin was always too low for her to comfortably use. I built a set of risers to replace the short ones, tall enough for her comfort and to include a couple of drawers. We are moving toward a couple of small recliners and have removed the couch. I retained the risers (and drawers) and offer them to anyone interested. Free! come get them or pay for shipping. Just hate to throw them in a dumpster if anyone with a similar boat needs or wants them.

View the latest post Radar Arch Nuts Loose

The radar arch attachment nuts and lock washers on our 350 Mariner are located behind 4 access panels on the arch. I recently decided to replace the plastic screws that hold the panels in place with stainless as some of the heads had broken off.

After removing the panels I noticed that 2 of the 4 nuts were loose to the point that the lock washer was no longer compressed. One of them I could move by hand.

Just thought I would pass this along.

Cheers
Fraser

View the latest post Six fuel tank

We’ll, it’s been a great season and I’ve learned a lot. Boat’s out of the water now. Winter’s coming.
One issue I need help with...
My ‘96 355 Aft Cabin has an “Auxillary” fuel tank. I had inadvertently filled it (via the port aft access port) a year ago when I bought the boat. I tried to use the fuel in the tank this season only to completely gum up the fuel filters to both engines. I’m not surprised considering how difficult it was to find the selector valve under the salon sofa. My hunch is that the fuel in that tank has been sitting there for years.
Now I simply want to pump it out and not use the tank, but I can’t find it.
Does anyone know how I access the Auxillary fuel tank on a 355 Aft Cabin (1996)?

View the latest post Perfect solution for boat size salon sectionals

Many boats we have been looking at no longer have the original salon sectional and I have seen other discussions where folks are looking for furniture. I found a great solution at http://www.homereserve.com The modular pieces come shipped flat and you can assemble them on board. They also have storage in the seat. I've already designed for the 3807 we are hoping to purchase
