View the latest post Carver 3007?

OK guys I need your help. After downsizing(sold my SR450DA) i want something smaller but yet comfortable thus my interest in the Carver 3007. My main concern is at anchor how does it act. It would appear top heavy and rolly. How does it handle at Trawler speed and what (Nautical mile per gallon) NMPG can I expect to get? This model is pretty old. What about parts, leaking windows and such? Any known issues associated with this boat. I would appreciate any general comments about this model. I really appreciate your help! JC

Please help me
Does anyone else have issues with handling their 405 /406 Carver around a dock.
I have boated for years and never had any issue with docking a boat.
For some reason this boat has gotten the best of me.
Just can not control it when there is a bit of current and wind.
I think I need to go back to boat handling school.

View the latest post 2008 43SS Who has one? Have question

We have a 2008 Carver 43SS. Question is regarding the Tappan Convection/Microwave oven. The bottom element does not seem to heat up (it does not "light up" when operating). I was able to find a new, in the box, exact model to replace it. Tappan has gone out of business so can't contact them. Users manual does not address this. I'm trying out the new one on the counter in my home before installing on the boat. Same issue - the bottom heating element does not "light up". I will have to remove the refrigerator on the boat to access the electrical plug to remove and replace the microwave - so want to be sure it is the microwave oven (not the operator) before replacing it. I'm looking for another owner of the same oven that I can compare notes with before exchanging out the units. If you have the same oven, I would appreciate visiting with you here or on my private email or cell phone. Please reply.

Hi Guys/Gals, I am glad to be here. Had a 1998 SeaRay 450DA. Had a very scary health scare and decided to Down size.
Sold the SR450DA in July now looking at the Carver 3007 AC model. It appears it would fit our boating life style well? I think. I am hoping to find other 3007 AC owners to discuss their experiences with this model. We use our boats in and around Key Largo Florida and potentially lake Cumberlad area as well. Thanks for letting me join in on the fun. JC

I've had a 1990 3207 and am now 13 years into our pride and joy, a 1987 3807.

Always looking for the next one. Don't tell the wife.

View the latest post Gasoline Source

On my 1994 390 CPMY there are three gas tanks, one for port engine, one for starboard, and a reserve tank that each can share. According to the manual, the genset (kohler) runs off of the Port tank. I looked around and first of all, found NO gas filter to the genset. Anyone have one? Where is it? Secondly, if I switch the petcock from "port" to "aft" tank, does the genset also draw off of the aft reserve tank?

As you all know, or should by now, I "topped off" the port tank by tossing the garden hose into it and turned on the water. I have a fuel/gas polisher coming next Thursday, 08/10, and I am leaving on a 10 day trip Sunday, and have 6 spare gas filters/water separators. Although it would be a PITA, I was thinking of running the 10 days we are on vacation, on the starboard tank, and have the port engine just draw from the aft "reserve" tank. That way, I won't have to worry about changing filters while we are underway if a problem with the gas polishing job comes up. The company said I would have to change the filter 2 or 3 times after they removed the water and cleaned the gasoline. I would miss the extra 100 gallons of gas, but getting gas at each port would not be so bad, just expensive.

Thoughts? Ideas? Yea? Nay? I still feel like a stupid $hit, but what is done is done. :usa:

Imo ,if you were burning it there may be that sweet smell in the exhaust gasses......in regards to the heat exchanger, I guess so long as you have water flow and enough coolant in the engine you would not overheat until you got to the low coolant point. If you have one ,double check your temps with an IR temp gun.

View the latest post What's under the shower seat (Carver Mariner 350)

I have a question.... or more like wondering. I was sitting in my Carver Mariner 350 (1999) and I was looking at the layout. From what I can surmise, there is nothing under the shower seat. It seams like a lot of wasted space. or is there some thing tucked under there that I don't know about. Please enlighten me.

Thanks
