View the latest post 1986 Carver 3207 Water system

I just Recently purchased a carver 3207.1st. i dont see a shore water connection only a water inlet i believe for the tanks. The water pump was bad and disconnected but not replaced no hoses are connected to it ... what would be super helpful if someone took a picture of their system there the pump it .... so i can see what goes where... this is my first carver and i am stomped it looks as if the system was tweaked maybe to bypass the tank .

View the latest post Might be an '88 Voyager 28' owner

Looking to potentially buy a 1988 Voyager 28. I know my surveyor will know what to look for, but what, as Carver owners, should I make sure he pokes around in and what questions should I ask?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Water leak around dripless bearing

Carver 406 - I have a pretty significant water leak between my port dripless shaft bearing and the blue hose behind it that is supposed to keep sea water from entering. I hit a log yesterday (no vibrations afterward, but it did kill the port engine so I had to restart) and that seems to have caused the problem. The leak is at a rate of about 15 gallons per hour, so the bilge pumps can easily keep up. I am now in port so have closed the through-hull, but the leak continues, so it must be coming from the stern. Looking at the area, there is a 1/4" gap between the raised part of the bearing and the blue pipe, while on the starboard side they abut each other. Can I loosen the clamps and push the bearing further into the blue pipe, or just tighten the clamps? Can I safely repair this in port? Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.

View the latest post Attachment(s) How to make your Carver go faster!

I have written a couple of posts on my conversion of a 26 Carver Santa Cruz with a V8 fully capable of getting on and maintaining a clean plane over to a baby long range cruiser capable of a cruise speed of 6.1 MPH! One of the projects I did not get to over the last 2 plus years of rebuilding this yacht was the removal of 37 years of bottom paint and adding one thin coat of new paint in its place. Two months ago I decided it was time to do this most disagreeable job I also wanted to replace all 64 rollers on my boat trailer as well as replacing the entire brake system plus a conversion to disc brakes.

After a incredible amount of work scrapping the bottom of the boat by hand with a 2.5 inch scrapper, I would vacuum up the old paint off my driveway with a shop vac., I could not believe how heavy the vacuum had become, I opened it up the first time to find it filled to the top, I repeated the filling and emptying 3 more times before the boat was cleaned off, I captured 128 lbs of old paint it is unknown how much paint I lost as I worked in front of a commercial floor fan blowing on me through out the scrapping process !!

I repainted the bottom of the boat and did all trailer work, the boat was actually capable of being winched 2 feet on the trailer with the new rollers, very happy as it would not move a inch before the rollers were changed! I now wonder if the removal of the very rough thick paint from the bottom will have any effect on my cruise speed, who knows maybe I can get her up to 6.2 MPH!

View the latest post Adding 110v pnl breaker

I own a 88 1407 and want to add a breaker to the panel but unsure which brand will work, and to lazy to spend time taking everything apart to check. Anyone have done this in the past and know the style or manufacturer?

Happy Boating :captain2:

View the latest post Washdown Pump Plumbing

My 2003 366 deck wash down pump (fresh water, not seawater) inlet is NOT plumbed to anything. The freshwater tank has a single output to the fresh water pump for sinks etc. That plumbing appears to be factory.

I can't figure out where the deck wash down pump should connect. There are no "T fittings" that I can see off the tank.

Anyone know?
