View the latest post Attachment(s) 50 amp cord for sale

Morning. I have four 50 ft 50 amp 125 volt power cords for sale. Three are in excellent conditon. One is older and has typical sun fade and that "stick" feel.

Walmart has online price of $427. I would like $175 for each of the better ones and $50 for the one in poor cosmetic condition.

View the latest post Attachment(s) New matress project for 370 Aft cabin

Always been less than satisfied with the main cabin mattress. Too narrow / too short (I'm 6'3", 240#), was layered with loose foam sheets from previous owner, also had that 'boat smell'. Plan is to shop for a custom mattress at HMC showroom near Cleveland OH while visiting the new grand-baby. I took the old plywood platform sections home and fabricated new pieces resulting in 6" wider at the shoulders and 4" wider at the foot and 4" longer overall. All that is left is to fabricate and install Aluminum molding / lip to hold the new mattress in place. Made a template of the new footprint to take to the mattress folks.

One issue we always had even before the modification was the hanging locker doors ran into the bed before the door was open all the way. Took the doors home / split them vertically, installed piano hinges after some teak edge banding on the raw edge. Now we have bi-fold doors that clear the bed and give better access to the hanging locker. I'll post picture when I have a chance - turned out pretty good.

View the latest post Replacing dead HVAC units on a 370 Aft Cabin

I had one A/C unit die in the aft cabin and the one in the forward v-berth is failing so started the replacement project. Started in the Aft cabin first - what a flail!!!! You have to drain / disconnect / remove 70 gallon freshwater tank and unbolt and shift the water heater to make room to remove the A/C unit!!! Shudder to think what the repair yard would have charged. Went back with a Webasto FCF9000, seems to be working great now. V-berth is out, next weekend for install
A couple of notes:
1) No where in the install instructions does it tell you anything about the return air sensor, left it coiled up inside the electronics box and you could hang meat in the cabin after a hour or so. Manufacturer is adding notes in the manual for future. Of course after talking to vendor and looking for the sensor - duh! everything is working fine now.
2) On my boat the freshwater tank is plumbed to the flush water supply inlet to both toilets! Boat documentations says there are thru-hulls, but not on my boat. Always wondered why we ran low on freshwater so quickly. Good news is since toilets are flushed with potable water - no river stink!
3) It takes a heat gun to soften the hoses to pull them off the hose barbs (and to put them back on).
4) New unit raw water fittings are 3/4" and boat hose is 5/8". Webasto provides cheesy plastic adapters (no hose clamps) that I had trouble getting to seal up with no leaks. I went to a hydraulic hose shop here in town and built some adapters out of good brass fittings. Flows better and no leaks!
5) Be prepared to fabricate adapter flanges to mate to the existing conditioned air manifold - of course flange doesn't match the old Marineair unit.

View the latest post New 350 Mariner owner

Hey All,

So I have left my Bayliner behind and am in the process of buying a '98/ 350 Mariner. She is a little dirty, she is in need of a some love, but provided the survey says she is sound, she will be mine. You will all probably get sick of my questions as my projects start. But looking forward to the journey!

View the latest post New Owner!

Hey everyone, I am now the new proud owner of a 1988 Santego 2767. It's an awesome boat and I'm super excited. Having said that I have a couple questions if ya'll don't mind pointing me in the right direction (I'm about to search the forum as well but with any new site I always try to post a intro post before anything else).

My engine trim isn't working at all. Tomorrow I'm going to be doing the usual running around with a multimeter to figure out where there's power and whatnot, but I was wondering if there are any known problem places I should start looking first (like hidden fuses and such). The previous owner just had one of the engines completely pulled and redone and completely went through the other, so I'm thinking it may be as simple as they forgot to hook a power wire back up (at least I'm hoping it's that simple), or just a bad switch. It DID work before hand apparently. Any tips?

Also, I'm really not digging the fact that the two fuel tanks are completely separate for each engine. Has anyone made a crossover or have any reason why that'd be a bad idea?

I'm also needing to replace the trim tabs and I was wondering if there was a way I could go wider than the 8x12's that are currently on it. The shape of the hull has me thinking I won't but if anyone has done it I'd love to hear how you positioned them.

Finally, the boat is equipped with the dual 3.7L Mercruisers so what can I expect to get for fuel economy, top speed, and cruising speed? I know each boat is a little different and I'll have to investigate it on my own but as a rough estimate?

Thanks!

View the latest post Both shore power circuit breakers went bad?

Hooked up to shore power and had 110 v for a very brief moment. Now both breaker at shore power input bad? Turned off panel breakers to isolate power input and checked power cables, breakers. Breakers pass continuity check. But will not pass 110v. Breakers have no positive set. They have no resistance when throwing them on. What would cause this?? I have no ideas!

I have a 96 Carver 355. What are the side vents on the hull for, and why are there Snap-on covers for them?
