View the latest post Voyager 450 genny exhaust

My 450 Voyager exhausts into the swim platform. I have water pushing out of my rub rail. I assume there is a break in the exhaust tunnel. Has anyone one else come across this?

View the latest post Shaft alignment

2003 Carver 564 with Volvo D12 and ZF311 transmission. When we purchased the boat in 2013 our surveyor recommended shaft alignment. We have not done this as yet now just over 200 hours. I'd like recommendation as to the necessity of having this done. I do not have any vibration issues. The prop were tuned in 2016.
I do see what looks like black like soot or maybe small pieces of rubber under the transmission.
Is there a rubber gear between the engine and the transmission?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

View the latest post No fuel pressure when engines are hot after shut down

I have a 2000 Carver 350 Mariner with Mercury 350 MAG motors. After running in hot temperatures and sitting for approximately 1.50 hours engines will not restart. I don't have any fuel pressure. It appears something is shutting down the fuel pumps. Once engines cool down they will restart as normal.

View the latest post slip fee's/ storage rates

Hi All, pretty new to forum so I hope this hasn't been covered recently.

Just curious what other people pay for marina wet slips, or dry stack.

I am in the Orange Beach, AL area about 30 minutes from Pensacola, FL. We pay $8/ft per month on a yearly contract for uncovered wet slip. Month to month is $10/ft. Electric is metered and water is all you can drink :) Nice floating docks, good restrooms/shores, decent ship store, no restaurant or bar on site.

View the latest post 3207 Transmission Replacement

Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking and reading here for a while, but unfortunately now have a problem I need some help with

I have a 85 3207 aft cabin that I got from my folks when they went bigger, but I think I need to pull trans and either have some clutch work or a rebuild.

Went out the other week, had a great time until it was time to dock.. the starboard engine was stuck in forward, and for the life of me I couldn't get it to shift or come out of gear. I've eliminated all cable issues as both upper and lower stations shifters move together and the linkage on the trans moves as it should too. From everything I've read this points to a tans failure, and more specifically an issue with the clutch assembly (or whatever you want to call it).

I got down in the bilge and climbed around and from what I'm seeing it looks like the trans is mounted on the rear engine mounts, is this the case? If it is, can the trans be removed without lifting the engine all the way out, or at lease lifting the back end?

View the latest post Temp gauge barely moving - sender or gauge ?

We have a 1982 mariner with crusader 350's and the starboard temp gauge barely moves. When we are heading out it shows around 100 degrees and the temp on the engine using a temperature gun is 130 - 140. I tried swapping the sender wires from port and starboard , when I did that the issue stayed with the starboard gauge. Is swapping the wire at the engine side sufficient to test the gauge ? or should I really pull both out and swap them at the bridge ?

Thanks in advance

View the latest post 2003 360SS Repower

Just got the Wild Herron back from a re-power job. Replaced the troublesome Volvo Penta 5.7GXil-C engines with MerCruiser 383 MAG Strokers. Breaking them in today.

Been told that it is illegal to reset the Hobbs meters even though the engines have zero time (other than testing at MerCruiser, during the installation, and the short cruise from installation location to my slip (thinking we are at 2 hours or less). Is this true? Certainly showing the hours against the removed engines is more misleading than zeroing them out.

I suppose the only issue may be if I resell but the potential buyer would get the actual hours from the Merc ECMs. So, no real problems that I can see.

View the latest post Hard spot while cranking

My port engine is a 1998 454xLs TBI with 1450hrs.
Lately, when starting the Port engine, it'll crank fine but at a certain point in the cranking cycle, it'll almost come to a stop, then resume cranking and when it come that spot again, it'll almost stop....the engine will start but seems it has a miss for almost a minute and then run fine. I'm sure its not starter but maybe a hard spot in the cranking process.

Hope that makes sense...your thoughts?
