79 voyager 3326 port engines exhaust got very hot and had to be shut down. It wasn't pumping sea water (freshwater cooled engine). Began trouble shooting at the sea strainer, closed the sea cock and opened the strainer and it is clean. Opened the sea cock (with the strainer still open) expecting water to at least bubble out of the strainer and none did. Is this normal? Shouldn't water run out do the strainer when the strainer is open and the sea cock is open?

Greetings, Forum Mates:
I am searching for replacement element bowls for a Seaward Princess three burner electric stove Model # 3542. These are also known as drip pans.
The original Seaward part number was 72233 (in 1986).
Anyone know where I can find a vendor of such items?
Thanks,

Summer Splashy Lady maintenance time! Engines got new coil, wires, plugs, rebuilt the Q-jet carb (definitely a pain!), oil change, new fuel filters/separators, and a new fuel sender for the starboard tank. Both engines purr like a Tomcat in a dairy now...

View the latest post Attachment(s) Looking for a gear linkage for a 1988 Voyager 28
- Posted by: Darkfaythe » June 29th, 2017, 3:35 am
- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
Hi all
I dont know if this is the right place to be asking this but I have a 1988 Voyager 28 with twin Chev 305's and V Drives.
One of the linkages from the V Drive to the prop shaft is bent and I'm trying to find a replacement.
It is a Walter V-Drive with 1 1?4" shaft and standard SAE taper with 5/16" key.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Cheers
Rob

Hi
My name is Rob Spijkerman and I bought a 1988 Carver Voyager 28 back in March 2011. It had been sitting in a yard going to rack and ruin and I spent the next 4 years restoring her and launching her early in 2015.
Since then I've been enjoying her and finding all kinds of other issues with her but with a couple of new props she handles like a dream now.

- Forum: Electrical
You guys are so great I decided to come back for more! We need new batteries. (Carver 356) We have 3 now, one dedicated to the gen and the other two start both engines and run the stuff. I am not sure all three need replacing but they are from 2011. Everything was fine until we had company. We always turn off the water pressure when we are going to be gone for a few days and sometimes the microwave and range. Somehow when our company was "helping" they flipped off the battery charger and we didnt notice until we came back a week later to dead stuff.
Everything has seemed fine but last weekend (3 weeks since the incident) we anchored out for a few hours and you know it!!! Boat wouldnt start when we were ready to leave. We started the gen and it powered up the batteries but Mike says that since the batteries have been totally depleted its time for new ones. I was going to pick up a few so we would have them ready when he flys in tomorrow but seriously!! What kind? Gel? Deep Cycle? Amps? Ahhh What do I get. Be specific and I will run and get them tomorrow! Thanks!! You guys are amazing and I am learning so much

- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
My husband and I just purchased a 2008 Carver 36 Mariner. Spent the day cleaning it and getting it ready to go. We will be on the Chesapeake Bay. Already have questions and will begin by searching old posts. We moved up from a Nauti Star deck boat so this will be a big change for us and will be looking for some advice. Thanks in advance.
