Crowbar new to Carver. We bought a 1987 28' Voyager. Twin 305's. I'm getting to know the systems, but it's a learning curve. I'll be asking for advice. Thanks

View the latest post New owner in Bettendorf IA

Hello all. I am a new owner of a 1989 Allegra. I had a 1989 Montego 2557 that perished in a barn fire 4 days before I was planning to remove it. I'm currently getting the Allegra up to date on maintenance and restoring some systems that stopped working. It's in the water and we've been enjoying it. I still have my complete canvas from my Montego including the metal supports and a mooring cover that I am looking to sell. That was my primary reason for coming to the board today. I had removed it for winter storage. I love carvers. What I like best about the Allegra is the above deck seating and the size of the engine compartment. It's like the Millennium Falcon's smuggling compartments. What I like least is lack of an aft cabin that could easily fit in the smuggling compartments.

View the latest post 89 santego 3467, cabin door

Hello fellow santegoians, now getting around to addressing my sliding cabin door which is clearly out of square.

With so many screws in place it is hard to believe it moved. No visible signs of cracking or frame movement. Before I start taking it apart I thought of listing this out there for advice.

Thanks

View the latest post Starter Solenoid

Howdy!
I'm having a strange problem with my port engine that I'm hoping I can get some help with. When I turn the key to the "run" position, the starter runs and the engine will start without ever turning the key to the "start" position. I can't really tell if the starter stays engaged once the engine starts, but I think that it disengages.
Does this sound like the starter solenoid is stuck in the "on" position? Why doesn't the starter run even with the key in the "off" position like it would in a car? is there something else that cuts the power to the starter when the key is "off"?

Any help with this will be very much appreciated.

Hello out there to all the carver owners! I have joined mainly to let you all know that I am selling my 1987 Riviera.
It is a great boat( but they all are) in very good overall condition. Our kids are grown and not really into boating anymore
so we are trying to downsize to a cuddy size boat. It is located at the Lake of The Ozarks region in Missouri.
I am accepting reasonable and realistic offers. Send inquiries to sperrycc@centurylink.net

Morning. Just launched and discovered aft toilet keeps filling with water. Is there a dedicated shut off valve for head? Where located?

Thanks.

View the latest post The Fishfly Hatch

The fishflies have hatched here in Gibraltar Michigan. My boat is covered with them. The marina has turned off all the lights here to cut down on them but my being aboard with my interior lights on has drawn them to my boat.

Looks like I will be washing my boat later today to get rid of them. After today I will not be back to my boat until next Monday. I am hoping that the weather cooperates and I can head up-river to watch the Detroit/Windsor Freedom Festival Fireworks.

Our GFI plugs in the stateroom have popped, and we can not get them to reset. Anyone else run into this problem? All other plugs on the vessel are operational as well as all other electronics. :banghead:
