View the latest post Attachment(s) AC coil cleaning?

Hey everyone!

My rear AC has been having trouble cooling the cabin. I poked my head in there yesterday and with a mirror and flashlight I was able to see the coil. Its clogged with dust.

What do you folks use to clean the coils? This is a Air Dometic Turbo so using a vac is out of the question.

Thanks!

Steven

View the latest post Engines and drives removed any tips.

Hi I have removed both transom assemblies from my boat due to excessive corrosion. So obviously the engines (mercruiser 470's four barrel 180 hp) are sitting in the work shop. I have just received the new transom assembly's , new exhaust's and they are being installed now. I am changing the oil, plugs, points and checking the heat exchangers while the donks are out is there anything else I should be doing before putting them back into the boat. Thanks in advance. Cheers from oz.

Has anyone mounted a tv on the curved wall in the Master Stateroom? How? Pictures?
When the weather is rough, does your swim platform slap the water and shake the whole boat?

View the latest post Attachment(s) replacement LED lights WOW!

I replaced those terrible recessed halogen lights through-out my 406 aft and it was amazingly simple and successful. These (recessed) lamps fit so well that no screws were required! The light is fabulous and they look incredibly better than the originals;especially with their heat-cracked bezels falling down on the deck. If you've got these 2-1/2" lights and want to replace them cheaply here's the link:

View the latest post Attachment(s) Trent Severn Waterway Canada information

Hello, I am planning a trip through the Trent Severn waterway in Canada this year, starting on or about August 15th. I have looked online and have the facts about the canal, length , number of locks and cost to travel the waterway etc. I have found little to no personal experience information, I would love to hear from people that have traveled the waterway in the last ten years, things like best locks to visit / stay at and why, good places to see along the route, nice places to anchor for the night. I am NOT interested in the best restaurants or the best marinas to stay at.

Things to know about boating the waterway in Canada Vs USA, things you should not do and things you should do to be a polite boater north of the boarder, any special procedures when approaching a lock and the actual locking procedure, in US enter on green light, grab a rope or pipe and hold on, leave when the gates open (let go of rope)!

I will be making the trip on "VENTURE" my 1980 Carver 2667 , I have time so side trips of interest are welcome if you have one in mind.

View the latest post Carver 3326 crusader questions

Afternoon all. Recently bought a 1979 Carver 3326 ( crusader 270's ) and made a 4 hr trip to her new home. Couple things that were off and would like your opinions. ( saltwater bay ) The engines both ran about 180-185 . Is that high? Also there seemed to be a tremendous curl of exhaust fumes to the back of the boat even up to the bridge from out of the back. So much so it would not have been safe to stand on the back while cruising. Thoughts on this? Restricted water flow, engines rich? OR is this normal? I have seen some posts on the internet that sim Carvers have had this issue as well. But would like more input. Does not do this at idle only when cruising and getting the back draft
And lastly the Port side V-Drive seemed to have a small spray of water from somewhere on it at 2500 or higher RPMS? Thoughts on what this may be? It was very small and almost "spitting" Thanks in advance for any inputs. Been a boater most of my adult life, but am fairly new to the inboard world.

Thanks
Dave

View the latest post Velvet Drive Model 20-01-006

These are in my 1998 370 Voyager hooked up to 7.4 Mercrusiers. Coming back from the Tall Ship event in Boston this past weekend I had an alarm sound in the middle of Buzzards Bay in pea soup fog. Lifted the hatch could smell something was wrong and shut my port engine down. Thought I had blown a coolant line. We motored home to Westport, MA on one engine doing 8.5Kts and the trip took an extra 2 hours. When I started the engine to assist me into my slip I couldn't shift into forward or reverse. Current and wind were favorable and stuck the landing on the first try on one engine.

Took the time to straighten the boat up, have lunch and a beer before I looked further. Once my wife had left I started cleaning up the mess. Tranny fluid has sprayed onto the engine causing the alarm. Not sure where it was coming from but cleaned up the mess and thru extra pads in the bilge. Looks like it may have leaked out of the cooler or one of the hoses. I will attack it this weekend, only hope I didn't fry the tranny. Any suggestions or comments will be readily accepted. Summer is too short to be down long.

View the latest post Carver Riviera - navigation/interior lights not working (?)

Hello:
I have a 1987 Carver Riviera and the navigation and interior lights are not working. There are separate circuits for each in the fuse panel. I do electrical work on my home, i.e. install sub-panels, circuit breakers, etc., but I am an utter novice with boats. Where do I even begin? Are there circuit breakers or fuses that may need replacing in the electrical panel itself? Shore power is working, and my receptacles all work, as well as most gauges on the operating console. A little hinky, but I am planning on cleaning up the ground points.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike L.
