View the latest post Trying to figure out where to stow my stern anchor on my 41 CMY

Looks like u may have to mount a storage locker either in the cockpit or the swim platform for that stern anchor and rode. Maybe one with a cushion top so it could double as a seating area?

View the latest post '94 390 CPMY MODEL 3937 - GENERATOR MISSING!

Hey everyone, glad I found this forum. Purchased a 94 390 CPMY (3937) a week ago. Lots of questions but I'm learning fast. I got the yacht for a steal knowing that I was going to have to put some dollars into it...That being said 1st owner apparently pulled the generator and did not replace. I've found an Onan Gasoline Fueled 6.5 kw 1800 RPM (rebuilt/warranty) which will be here Saturday, however not quite sure on installing it. Pretty sure fuel line from port tank and wiring is still in the engine compartment, not sure about exhaust etc...help, advice, diagrams, etc would be appreciated.

View the latest post Walter V-drive Question

I'm new to this and would like some clarification and info. I have a Walter direct mounted "V" drive. The oil has leaked out. My questions is where do I put more oil in? In the dipstick port? SAE-30 oil? Where should I look for a leak? Where are they prone to fail? Where do I change the oil out when it is time for maintenance?

Thanks for your help.

View the latest post What makes the money spent worth it?

Besides drag racing and aviation I can't think of too many recreational activities that require substantial investment in $ to do like boating does. I know there's lots of arguments either way on that but, that's been my experience.

One of the many things that makes it worth it for me is some things I've been able to see that I may never have gotten the chance to only because I was on a boat at the right place at the right time. For instance, my wife and I were enjoying early morning coffee in a cove in the upper Chesapeake area. Bald Eagles are making a come back with a vengeance in the bay. Territorial disputes are being played out between ospreys and eagles and amongst eagles themselves. While we were sitting on the back deck we saw an osprey pick up what looked like a fairly decent white perch. The bird flew toward shore and under cover of the overhanging tree limbs. It's flight seemed odd but the reason soon became clear. No less that 4 immature and 1 mature eagle came over the canopy and 1 eagle started in on the osprey. It didn't take long for the osprey to turn, make a sorry attempt at escape, and just drop the fish at which point the eagle just pulled off and let the fish and the osprey alone. Then another one of the eagles went for the fish at which point it was chased by a 3rd eagle. The action got serious now. The chaser and the chased were going at it. At one point the chased bird turns upside down in mid flight and raises its talons at the other bird daring it to continue. That's when they both flew off in different directions. It was like watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Where else do you get a chance to see stuff like this. I've been watching birds, hunting and fishing for decades now and I've never seen something like this. Little things like this add up and make it all worth it.

What makes it worth it to you?

View the latest post "Black" tank does not hold much and pressurizes

Not a fun topic I know, but all help greatly appreciated. 1989 Carver 38 Santego. The sewage holding tank does not hold very much waste, it seems like only 4 gallons or so. I can tell when it's getting full because the crown head starts flushing and then kind of filling back up a little like there's pressure in the tank. When I go to pump out it's always a horrible experience. You have to release the waste cap slowly and let the "stuff" which is under tremendous pressure leak out. If you take the cap all the way off it's like a fire hydrant of nasty shooting up into the sky. I've tried blowing into the two vent lines, but can't really tell if they are clogged or not. There was a pungent smell released when the blowing was ceased. Yea so this is no fun and I have no idea what to do. I've pumped out several times over the last couple of years always refilling the tank with clean water and pumping it out again 3 times. I've tried liquid Rid X for RV's. Toilet paper is never flushed. Nothing helps. There is a bit of a sewage smell at times coming from the berth. The tank can't be this small. What can I do??? Thanks!!

I just purchased a 2000 450 Voyager. For a while I will have many questions.
My first question is; where is the shower sump located?
Next; how do you get the damned tv out? I will try and post a picture of the boat later.

View the latest post 3807 AC Pump Relay Location

Hi everyone! Do any of you know where the AC pump relay is located on an '89 Carver 3807? I have 2 Mermaid AC units each with their own thermostats operating on one AC pump. The berth unit will not start and there is an error code on the digital thermostat that blinks "HPF". The saloon unit does turn on (not digital) but the AC pump will not run. I've verified this with a voltmeter and by placing my hand on the pump. No power, no noise. I replaced the pump and it still does not come on. It's hard finding stuff on this boat. I can't find the windless isolator either. All help greatly appreciated!
