hows everyone ? I'm looking for some knowledge and some advice, an opportunity good or bad has popped up for me my uncles boat was changed into receivership because of a bankruptcy, its a 1999 406 the known issue was the starboard side fuel tank is leaking and needs replaced, The boat has now sat in the ocean for 4 months, normally I would pass at this but for the price I can purchases this for is 17,000$ usd I'm looking for some words of wisdom from some carver owners , its a twin cummins I'm sure it needs work i have a pic of the motor ill attach, how much work is it to change the tank ? is this price reflect the work? and other problems with this year?
thanks so much in advance , I'm 28 years old and looking to enter the boat world but don't wanna enter putting 200k into a sinking ship lol
cheers , jesse H

This is my second Carver (43 SS) but my first diesel. As a new member I will have some dumb questions as I learn to maintain them (600 Volvo Pentas). Hope you can help. Ron, Kara Mia 2, Nashville, Tn.

I’m just curious. I’m not there yet. But under $6k list for a couple reman long blocks I could maybe do it sooner than later. I have 1800 hours on mine.
They have a 330 HP crusader option that would be a direct replacement. But they "Encourage" you to go with the 420hp engine option. Of course my puny TBI wouldn’t net anywhere near that.
What are thoughts and experiences with something like this?
Thanks

I am getting ready to install Weaver Snap davits on my 03 366 swim platform. There are no panels underneath and no obvious access from the aft cabin.
I ordered toggle bolts for the install. Before I drill, has anyone gone this route? Is there foam inside the platform that may get in the way?

Hello Folks
I am Dennis and I was wondering if anyone knows the color white used on the hull of the 1987 Carver 3257 Montego. I am refurbishing Her and need to paint the hull over. I believe someone told me once it was Carver simple white or something like that. any information would be greatly appreciated.. Just finished repairing and painting bottom. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, not really. I've been down to the boat a couple of time, did some maintenance, changed oil, cleaned the bilge, (after the oil change, so I see a reverso system in my future!) laid around, dreamed of warm breezy days.
But Today we were in full swing. I dewinterized, (which means for me, removing the snap on vent covers, turn off the heaters in the engine room, remove the heater from the head, and turn on the ice maker. ) Then the cleaning session came in full tilt.

I may get injured for posting this... but what happens at the dock, stays at the dock! To be fair, I cleaned all the rest of the boat, just left them (The one with sunglasses is a dock neighbor) to do the non skid. Seems fair enough to me.
I did wait to consume docktails till after the scrubbing was done, and came out with enough drinks for all.

Got the new Carpet installed today on our 1985 3607 aft cabin. Got the salon and aft cabin carpets installed by a friend who is a excellent carpet layer! Decided to do some cedar around the aft Bedroom to change things up a bit...still have to re upholster the bed sorround. Everything needs to go together yet but new carpet really freshens things up here are some pics.. -Tim

Who make the canvas tops for Carver? Mine is in need of help. Last boat i found out that I could buy a factory canvas cheaper than having it made after words.

Hi. I purchased a 2001 444 last fall and had props sent out for scanning. I am told they are of Canadian manufacture (24 x 30) and the blades are not welded equal distance around hubs. Rear cutless bearings wore out in less than 400 hours.
Anyone heard of this issue?
Lots of $'s to replace.
Thanks
