View the latest post Attachment(s) Prop scan scheduled for Carver 405

Based on new owner maintenance recommendations from the forum, I plan on taking props to Holland Propellers, Holland Michigan, for a free scan. A short discussion with one of the techs prompt many questions regarding the boats performance. Below are the questions asked by the tech:

What prop is currently on boat?
I gave him the bill of material description, but I honestly don't know for sure.

What is the WOT rpms?
I indicated the short time I operated the vessel I got up to 4400 rpms

What speed was achieved at WOT?
With wind 32-34 mph

How responsive is handling at idle?
Good with little and no currant, need more toddle with wind and I imagine currant? He seemed to zero in on the boats responsiveness at idle, 800-850 rpms.

Questions went on regarding props closest measurements to hull, strut, and rudder.

He then asked if I know of the new technologies in propeller engineering? My answer was no but I understand things evolve.

So what am I getting into?
What should I expect taking in 20 year old props?
What should I be getting with the above performance questions?

Any help from the group will make me more prepared for the visit. I really don't want to walk out of there with new props if it is not necessary. I also do know enough to make judgement on pitch changes to help at idle.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 3607 aft cabin mattress

I am buying a 1988, 3607 aft cabin. It is 500 Miles away, so I can't go measure myself. It is in storage and the owner can't do it either. I want to bring a mattress with us when we pick it up to pilot it home. My question is, is it queen size? If it isn't, does anyone have the actual dimensions?
Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) SOLD - Fisher Winter Storage Cover for 1991 Carver 36' Aft Cabin

This cover was made in 2003 and used 2 years only. Has been in storage since. It is for wet-storage, meaning for boat left in the water. I believe it has 2 zipper access doors too. I just got it in and going to take pictures next week.

New today, probably about $5100 before discount. $4600 after.

I am open to all offers. I will post pictures early next week.

Call or email if interested in this cover, or if you are in the market for a boat cover. Thanks,

View the latest post R21xx tripping breaker

I have an old r21xx Raytheon radar that didn't work when I bought the boat last fall.. Since I live on an inland lake and don't really need radar, I decided that I would try to resurrect this ancient system. The original unit would not power up at all, completely dead. I found a used head unit on Ebay that said that it was working condition when removed. (That's what they all say). Anyway, I connected the power cable and indeed, it came right on. Here's the rub, when I connected the cable from the array and turned the system on, it tripped my "bridge" CB. I reset the CB, disconnected the array cable it powered up perfectly again. So maybe it's the array.
I climbed up to the array and opened it up and it looked like new inside. There was no water or rust visible. The array turns manually but nothing else.

Anybody have a similar problem and fixed it? I really have no idea what I am looking at inside the array other than the motor.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
