View the latest post Deck Rail Hardware

Hello,

First post here. I have scoured the internet looking for replacement deck rail fittings for my 1984 Carver 3207 Aft Cab.

I'm looking for the base fittings 7/8" tube. The one's on the boat are 2 3/4" and I cannot find anything besides 3" ( I did find one from Sea dog but it is not a perfect rectangle.

I have ordered and received

Seachoice Square Base Hand Rail Fittings; Investment cast 316 stainless steel or chrome plated zamak
SKU: SCP 37901...

Sea Dog 286190-1 Rectangular Base Rail Fitting, 90° (these actualy fit but will not totally cavewr the old perfect rectangles that were there.

Anyone have a source for 2 3/4" fittings?

Thanks!
Jason

View the latest post Attachment(s) Upgraded my bimini to to a hard top

What a difference hooray no more canvas on the aft portion. My new hardtop from Hard To Top was custom made for my 1988 model 3207. The cost is comparable to canvas but the big plus is that it is guaranteed for 10 years and will last 4-5 times longer than canvas. I installed it along with the help of my friend and completed it in about 6 hours.

The top consists of 8 mm polycarbonate and anodized aluminum (picture attached). I was able to attach it to my existing bimini frame and still use my side curtains. It is much cooler underneath than canvas. Let me know what you think.

View the latest post Carver 404 bow tunnel thruster

Has anyone installed one? Have one to help describe the placement of components?

While I don't have a 404 owner's manual, looking at a 406's manual, it looks like the forward AC unit is right below the rack in the V berth - right where I'd assume you'd place the thruster's motor/battery and go 'down' to tunnel.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver 404 Flybridge bimini to hard top?

Has anyone ever done the switch? In all the boats I've ever sailed upon the Bimini has added a lot of noise with flappin' and rattlin'.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

View the latest post Marine Air heat won't start

I have a Carver 405. The forward Marine Air unit (VRP 16K) will run in the cooling mode but will not switch on in the heating mode.T he heat light on the Passport II control panel does not come on when calling for heat. I ran the diagnostic test (power switch pressed while turning on the AC power) and the heat runs for its allotted 10 minutes. During the test the heat light on the control panel illuminates as it should.

I would think that the diagnostic is bypassing something while executing the test, but have no idea what?? Since it acts normal during the test it doesn't seem to be the reversing valve, and I would think that the unit itself is OK. Maybe a loose wire, circuit board (however no codes displayed) or the controller head.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
