View the latest post Hello Everyone!

I am the proud owner of a 1996 Carver 355 Aft Cabin, as of 3 months ago. I am enjoying the boat, but naturally am finding a number of little things to fix. This is my first power boat, after 40 years of sailboats. I decided it was time for air conditioning and time to stop raising and trimming sails. My boat is Treasure Hunter and I have her at Eastport, Mississippi (that's on Pickwick Lake).

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver replacement parts

Following hurricane Matthew I was finally able to assess the storm damage on my 405 and found that hurricane Matthew left town with my portside polycarbonate panels and aluminum corner piece on the Aft sundeck. While appreciative of the low damage level I would like to replace the missing panels and the corner piece is needed to hold everything together. Any ideas where a mariner can locate carver parts not available any longer by carver? Any help appreciated.
Pictures depict the part I need for the port side.

Saying hello from Whitehall, Michigan. Bought a 1997 405 MY with 454 Crusaders. Purchased in Traverse city, Mi. Brought down for heated storage in Onekema Marine. Having a hard time putting her away for season. Took her out today for a short trip to Manistee. Looking forward to learn from the forum's members. Dan

View the latest post My Trip To Winter Storage

Last week on Wednesday the weather for my trip to winter storage was perfect. There was little to no wind. That made getting out from my dock on 1 1/2 engines a lot easier. My port transmission is stuck in forward so handling the boat it tight quarters is challenging.

This trip began at the crack of dawn.

Image

Sunrise over Trouts Yacht Basin in Bolles Harbor off Lake Erie. It was a still windless morning. Perfect for maneuvering a boat on one engine.

Image

As normal most of the time the trip began with a trip over to the fuel dock. I had previously put in my fuel stabilizer so all I had to do was fill both tanks.

Image

$272.00 later and just under 80 gallons my tanks were full and I was ready to go.

Image

Heading out the channel into a flat and calm Lake Erie for my trip across the lake to my destination. It was just a perfect beautiful day for a boat trip. The temperature rose to 70* and the sun was shining brightly.

I throttled up to 3000 RPM running 14 MPH a bit slow for that setting. I am thinking that I probably have a good collection of zebra mussels on the hull. As I was travelling across the lake my speed gradually rose to about 18 MPH as I sloughed off the zebra mussels.

It was a 2 hour trip. I found an open dock at the marina and plan to have the boat pulled this week hopefully. She will be winterized and when they have winterized all the other boats there they will fix my port side transmission.

Looking forward to next season. Hoping to launch April 1, 2017 if all goes as planned.

View the latest post Water leak in aft cabin

I have a water leak in the aft cabin of my 1996 300ac. Both beds are soaked, there are no water stains on the walls or ceiling. Anyone had this issue? Also, do any of you have any idea how we can take the ceiling apart to hunt for the leaks?
Thanks.

View the latest post Hello Carver World

My buddy and I just bought a 1983 Mariner 3396. It seems like a great deal. We started our boating experience with a Trojan F25 that needs lots of work and it turned out to be a full gut and restore. That's in progress slowly. But we realized very early that it wasn't big enough for what we want, and we just want to get out there on the water sooner than later. So we bought this one. I already scheduled work to get done as we plan to keep her running throughout the winter. Bilge heater is already in the shopping cart! A few things need to get done on her but as far as we know, we are good to run with some regular maintenance. If you are in the Hampton Roads area, hopefully we will see you out there!

Will

Pics to come later!

View the latest post 2657 Montego Seating layout

I have a 2657 Montego. When I bought my boat all it had was the driver bench seat. looking for original or ideas what to do with mine. I know there is a spot for a seat across the stern. I'm wondering with the spot behind the driver bench seat if there was a seat there as well?
