View the latest post Carver Models At Toronto Boat Show

Have many of you gone to the 2016 winter boat shows in your area, and if so, what new Carvers did you climb aboard, and what are your thoughts on those models?

Toronto Boat Show had two Coupes on display, but no Command Bridge.

Cheers to all,

View the latest post New Chartplotter

I am buying a 2006 Carver 46MY, I want 2 chartplotters which I have on my trade in, currently the 46 has a Raymarine C120. I have been told I can't install a new unit to work with the C120 due to the age, I was advised to install a new Raymarine with built in GPS and this unit will work independently with no wiring other than power. Does anyone have experience with this unit with built in GPS?

thanks
Dave

View the latest post 12 volt interior lights

When I went to turn on my interior cabin lights they didn't come on. All the switches that should be on are on. The battery switch is also on. Everything else connected to the batteries works, engines, fathometer, etc. Is there a relay switch somewhere that could have been tripped? Any suggestions would be helpful. My boat is a 1998 3250 aft cabin.

View the latest post Replacement refrigerator

We have a marvel refrigerator in our 2001 Carver 466 Motor Yacht which is near the end of its functional life. I was wondering if anyone replaced their refrigerator and what brand and kind of refrigerator they have chosen. A direct Marvel replacement retails at around $1600. It seems a less expensive alternative might be available.

View the latest post Digital Speed Log Impeller Replacement

I own a 1987 Carver Riviera that has an SL-2 Digital Speed Log (Standard Communications). The
impeller has broken. The boat stays in the water year-round. Is it possible to replacement the impeller
from the top-side while the boat remains in the the water? I am unlikely to find the replacement part because of the age of the unit so, any suggestions on where to find the part?

View the latest post New, a little bit confused, member

I recently joined this forum looking for some knowledge. I'm considering moving up in boat length by 5 to 10 feet for long term live-aboard and trying to figure out all the various models in the large end of the Voyager series. I see Voyager 56's, 57's, 58,s, 560's, 570's, and some SE versions listed for sale. All are in the 59' range but other than some differences in salon furniture arrangements (further complicated by owners who have subsequently done upgrades) I'm having trouble figuring out the differences between these models from used boats ads and yachtworld pictures. Can anybody out there explain it or send me a link to a Carver Voyager Rosetta Stone?

I'm also VERY curious if any of these models have completed the great loop. Actually, to be more specific, have any of them made it under the 19.1 foot fixed bridge in Chicago? I've seen 19 feet listed as bridge clearance in some ads but don't know if that's top of the radar, masthead light, bare hardtop, etc. Surely, someone on this forum has first-hand knowledge.

Can some of you please chime in?

Many thanks, and very glad to be here.

Jeff

View the latest post Hi. Another Newbie

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum. I joined because I am interested in buying a 1992 Carver 634 Santego. From the research online and reading about surveys from a guy named Pascoe I am concerned about the reputable thin cored fragile hulls of Carvers. I figured who better to ask than owners of these boats. Are my concerns founded and are Carvers that bad? What about this particular model? I have owned a Bayliner 2655 and currently have a Monterey 286 SEL but would like to go a bit bigger. I had no structural issues with either the Bayliner or Monterey and would buy either of these brands again. The Carver really caught my eye and would suit my needs perfectly but I don't need a weak poor quality hull with core moisture problems. Any information or opinions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

View the latest post Front Windshield mesh cover from a 42SS

I had the windows tinted when we were updating the boat, and have a pretty good shape front windshield mesh cover from our 2007 42SS that is just sitting in the basement. No idea what its worth or if anyone wants it. No tears, no particular sun damage, but it is used. Any interest at $100 plus shipping? I have some pics but they are large scale so I'll need an email to forward. Roughly 49" top to bottom at what would be the windshield center. Roughly 176 inches point to point laid out on the floor in the basement. I'll also post on the FB forum, and if no interest, will put it on eBay. With deference to Ned Stark...spring is coming!

View the latest post Newbie here!

Hello board! Been a proud owner of a 350 mariner for 4 years now and love being a Carver owner! hoping that I can be as helpful here as I have seen other be. I'm a audio / video specialist by trade and boater by love. We call Old Hickory Lake our home which is part of the Cumberland River in Nashville,TN. I'm about to replace the starboard fuel tank which won't be fun and I will be doing a step by step photo session of the process that I will be able to share.

Hello to all the Carver owners.
Although I presently do not own a Carver I have owned many boats over the years none of them Carvers.
Presently I am looking at a 1990's vintage 42-44 ft. Carver motor yacht for my last hurrah, the great loop.
I might as well be a Carver owner because 3 of my good friends each own or owned 57 Carvers.
I have been spent much time both cruising and working on these boats over the past years.
Happy New Year
Rene
