View the latest post thru hull fittings

I am looking at changing the thru hull discharge valve for my black water holding tank on my 1986, 3297 Mariner. I does not look very healthy. Can any one offer any insight. I will hire a pro for the job but would like to know about any common issues that might arise.
Thanks Gatehopper

View the latest post Took Her Out For The Last Time

This season, is coming to an end. I made my appointment to pull next Wednesday at 9 AM (10/28/2015). I went out onto Lake Erie for a final time. I piloted over to the fuel dock and I pumped out for the final time and I added the Stabil to my fuel tanks. I filled both tanks then took my final run on the lake to make sure the Stabilized fuel ran through both engines.

When I awoke it was dead calm no winds. I eyed the fuel dock but another boat beat me to the dock. For whatever reason he took over an hour to pump out and fuel up. Part of the reason he took so long was he decided to wash down his boat at the fuel dock. While I was waiting for him the winds kicked up pretty good out of the south. When another boat approached the fuel dock he finally finished what he was doing and he departed.

At that time I pulled away from my dock and got in line behind the other boat. He was only there to pump out so he was gone in a jiffy.

I am fairly new to inboards and I have never owned a sedan before so I have a lot to learn as it pertains to handling this boat. Well, with the wind against me I approached the fuel dock and I made it on my first try. After pumping out and fueling up I headed out onto Lake Erie for one last time this season.

Now the winds are really kicking up. I apprehensively head for my dock with the wind working against me. I took my time and planned my approach. Using the corner dock pole as a pivot I managed to swing into my dock on the first attempt. I was pleased. I know I still need to keep practicing with this boat and get to know its handling characteristics better but unlike my first time coming back to the dock I am happy with my progress.

Unfortunately the season here in Michigan is almost over. Looking forward to boating season 2016.

View the latest post New Carver Owner - 360 SS

Greetings everyone,
As of last Tuesday, my wife and I are now proud owners of a 2003 Carver 360 Sport Sedan. Thanks Knot 10 Yacht Sales of Kent Narrows, MD.

We moved her from Kent Narrows, MD to Cypress Landing, NC on Wed, Thu, & Fri last week. The Chesapeake Bay was glass as was the crossing of the Albemarle Sound. Beautiful first trip and at 350 miles, the furthest we have traveled by pleasure boat.

Glad to be aboard the CY Owners forum and looking to years of fun & informative communications with all of you subject matter experts!

View the latest post new member- 2002 350 Mariner

We just finished our 4th season as owners of the 350 Mariner and could not be happier. We have owned 13 boats over 45 years of boating and this boat has turned out to be perfect for the 2 of us on Lake Erie.
Looking forward to enjoying this forum.

View the latest post coupler

Hello, after a great cruise this weekend I have picked up a rattle in the starboard engine. I have the Volvo Diesel D6. When I put it in gear it has a terrible rattle. Give it a little gas it goes away, I am thinking a coupler. Can anybody tell me what else it might be and also if it is a coupler, what kind of repair this is?
thanks

View the latest post New member 1995 330 Mariner

We just purchased a 1995 330 Mariner after looking at many 3297 and 330 models for the past year. We are looking forward to getting familiar with her and enjoying cruising on the Chesapeake Bay.

View the latest post Sofa bed for 3297/330 Mariner

We just purchased a 1995 330 Mariner. A prior owner removed the Flexsteel sofa bed and used folding directors chairs. We would like to find a replacement sofa bed. Flexsteel dealer said we need to have a model number to even have a shot at getting one. Can someone please take a look at an original one and let me know the model number? And would anyone know where we could get a replacement? Thank you!

View the latest post eyelet???

Our boat was hauled out last week and we got a call from the marina that the eyelet (or what ever it is actually called) that they hook the winch up to is loose and should be fixed. First of all, what is that called? Secondly, is it a diy or should we be calling a boat repair guy?

View the latest post Take It Home

Question for you electronics guys or gals. The Carver I bought in August came with a Gateway 17" LCD TV. I am getting ready to put the boat on the hard for the upcoming winter season. My question is: Should I take the TV home or will I possibly damage it by leaving it on the boat over the winter. Temps here can get as low as -20* F.

Thanks in advance.

View the latest post Toggle switch breakers for Carver 3607

I need to replace several of the toggle switch circuit breakers from a vintage 1983 Carver......any thoughts on a place that might carry that type of inventory or a suitable replacement for the original breakers?
