Well, we dood it! We closed on our Carver 390, and I'm looking forward to picking your brains to keep our new yacht as shipshape as we got it (or make it even better!).

Hello All, I am looking at this vessel and can't seem to find out accurate information on the following:
Favorable cruising speed with 7.4 MPI Merc's.
Fuel burn at cruising speed.
I really like the looks and layout of this boat and would like this info before committing.
Thank you

Tomorrow I will be taking my new to me 1981 Carver 3007 Aft Cabin out for the first time. It will be our first trip together. Heading to a rendezvous with some of my fellow boat club members. We will be anchoring out at a local anchorage area on the Detroit River just before the river enters Lake Erie.
Hoping that the weather cooperates. There is a chance of thundershowers but we have weathered them before. This is a fairly well protected anchorage. Closed on the west, south and east but open to the north. As long as the weather comes from the west or southwest we will be OK.
Will post about it most likely upon return although I will have internet capability using my smartphone as a hot spot so who knows, I could post sooner.

View the latest post Impeller part number for 2006 Volvo TAMD75P-EDC
- Posted by: Humbucker427 » August 29th, 2015, 11:19 am
- Forum: Diesel Engines/Transmissions
I realize this is a crazy question to be asking, but it's really more about timing of a boat trip.
I just bought a 2006 46MY with the Volvo TAMD75P-EDC engines, but I don't have it in my possession just yet. I'm supposed to hop aboard Tuesday evening and go on a 260 mile trip getting it to it's destination. I'd like to order up some spare parts for the trip, but I don't have the manuals with me.
So, does anyone know the part number for the raw water pump impeller? What I *think* might be the part number is Volvo OEM part # 877066. Also crosses over to Jabsco 17935-0001-P.
Does anyone know if this is correct? I just need to get these on order right away to have them by Tuesday if at all possible.
Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone,
I've owned Carvers for 8 years now. I just traded my 2001 356 for a 2006 46 MY. I can't tell you how much I loved the 356, but with 8 and 10 year old kiddos (with their cousins and friends often joining us), it was time to move to a 3 stateroom boat. That, and we were wanting diesels and a walk around bed in the master stateroom.
Anyway, I don't know why it took so long for me to join this forum, but I'm here now.
I haven't taken possession of the 46 MY just yet, but it should be ready this Tuesday. Talk about excited!

View the latest post MMSI Number
- Posted by: RGrew176 » August 28th, 2015, 4:32 am
- Forum: General Boating Discussion
I just purchased a new to me boat a Carver 3007 Aft Cabin.. The marine radio onboard does not seem to be working so I plan to get a new radio. I want to get one of the newer radios with the DSC function, I believe its called so I need to apply for an MMSI number. I understand you can get one through the Boat US website. I went to the site and one of the questions asked is do you plan to boat outside the U.S. I answered yes as I am in Michigan and will go to Canada a lot. The Boat US site says:
ATTENTION!
BoatU.S. can provide MMSI numbers only for equipment that is carried on US registered/documented recreational vessels that are not required to have an FCC Ship Station License and operate exclusively in US waters.
If your boat is registered or documented in another country, you will need to obtain an MMSI number from that country.
If you have a Ship Station License from the FCC (required for all vessels over 65 or equipped with a satellite phone or MF/HF or SSB radios, as well as for any vessel cruising internationally), you probably have already been issued an internationally accessible MMSI. Check the License Certificate for a nine digit number, most likely beginning with 366 or 367. If you are required to have a Ship Station License, you can obtain an MMSI number by filing FCC Schedule B with Form 605 when you apply. You will receive your MMSI number with your license.
BoatUS assigned MMSI data is stored in the Coast Guard SAR database. It is not included in the International SAR database. If you ever intend to operate the equipment outside of US waters, you need to obtain an FCC Ship Station License and an international MMSI.
Attention Vessels belonging to Federal Agencies
Federal users must obtain MMSI assignments from their agency radio spectrum management office in accordance with Section 6.6 of the NTIA Manual. Official DHS and U.S. Coast Guard users can obtain an MMSI through Commandant (CG-652) in accordance with Commandant Instruction M2000.3D, Section 11.D. U.S. Coast Auxiliary surface vessel operators should request assignment of MMSIs using the same method as for a U.S. Non-Federal user.
It will not allow me to continue the process to get the number. What do I do? Do I lie and say I will not travel outside U.S. waters and get the number or just continue on without one.
I am at a crossroads here.

I've isolated a problem with my Genny to a plugged or partially plugged fuel tank vent (runs fine when the filler cap is off - struggles and stalls when it is in place.
Any suggestions on how to clean out the vent line? A friend suggested using a Shop-Vac attached to the fitting on the hull. Uh... I think no.
Disconnect at the tank and BLOW?
Thanks in advance.

Hello All: Getting back into boating and am looking for a 1999-2003 Carver 356. I am on Vancouver Island BC and would prefer not truck a boat across the country but will if need be. Does anyone know a potential seller? I would rather deal directly with the owner than a broker. Thanks.
