View the latest post Filler cushions for 1988 Carver Mariner

Hi, we have just purchased the above mariner 32 and it has been very well renovated. However, there are no filler cushions for the drop down table or the v-berth. Does anyone know where I can get them, or if there are any patterns available to make them myself. Carver has said they know longer carry patterns for this age of boat. Thanks, Jackie

View the latest post New Member Considering Purchase of 1997 Carver 310 Santego

Hello all,

We are considering the purchase of a 1997 Santego 310. It is a fresh water boat powered by Low hour twin Merc 5.7LX motors with Bravo 2 outdrives. Appears to be in good shape and plan a marine and motor survey.

Boat will be used solely in Lake Michigan. Mostly for day cruising but will include some weekend trips. Days of fast boat needs are behind us. I understand that this boat will cruise at approximately 23 MPH (3200 RPM) while burning 1.2 MPG. However, we plan a slightly slower pace.

Can anyone share some thoughts on this boat. General handling in calm seas? How does it handle the occasional seas of 3 - 5 foot? Concerning fuel economy, can anyone share experience at less than cruise speed ... say 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 RPM? Thoughts on mechanical, systems and other areas? Overall impressions are also welcomed.

Thanks!

View the latest post FS: 22 x 22 x 1 3/8 brass LH Prop

I bought this LH prop as a get home spare and was looking for a RH. Wasn't concerned about brand or anything, just something to get me home in case I damaged underwater gear on my 1987 3697.
I am guessing it is a brass prop.

Instead I found two brand new Nibral's at a smoking deal, so this one is for sale.

375 bucks shipped to the "lower 48". Or you can pick it up in St Joseph or Trenton Michigan for 350.

I sanded the hub looking for manufacturing info, but you can see what I found.

View the latest post Shower Sump holding tank/pump location

Shower sump pump stuck continuously running in my 2008 36/Super Sport. I want to check/clean the float switch, however the location of sound brings be directly under the Fwd stateroom bed which has the A/C unit in a molded fiberglass box Drain lines from the shower and Head sink run to this location. Problem is, the A/C & Bow-Thruster control unit are in the molded box, I see no easy way to access where the pump sound is coming from. There are even two smaller access holes under the bed support to left & right (of the larger A/C box) however, I see no sump holding tank only grey water & power lines. I am sure it is directly under the Bed & A/C box, but I can't get to it? Any guidance would be appreciated! :help:

View the latest post New member; considering purchase of '94 39 Aft Cabin Cockpit - any tips?

Hi All!

Considering making offer on a 1994 Carver 39' Aft Cabin Cockpit Motor Yacht w/twin Crusaders. Very clean boat, engines very clean, recent tune, rather low hours (300hrs). Any thoughts? Here are my concerns:

1) Is this boat too big for gas? I know the venerable Tollycraft 40 Tri-Cabin is about 3000lbs heavier, and they pretty much all had gas motors, and there are a lot still on the water today. I plan on mainly running it at hull speed for economy issues, with the occasional sprint on the plane to clean out the carbon.

2) Hull OK on these? The (in)famous yacht surveyor David Pascoe has no love for Carver. He talks about their cored hulls, but from the owners manual, this hull doesn't appear to be cored. No bluewater cruising for us; we're strictly inshore types.

3) Any other potential trouble areas I should look for and have my surveyor really look for?

It's a lovely boat I'd love to have, I'm just worried about the 'unknowns'. My last boat was a 30' Tolly Sedan with twin Mercruisers, and that boat did just fine for us.

View the latest post 1995 carver 370 w/ crusader engine rpm issues

I need help tracking down a problem. I have a '95 carver 370 acmy with crusader 454 XL EFI engines. As I brought the engine down to 1500 rpm the port engine began to vary in rpm...bouncing up and down from 800 rpm to 2000 rpm. The oil pressure gauge would bounce right along with the rpm's. can anyone tell me where to start in tracking down the cause of this problem. Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) Transmission Overheat

I have a '99 355 with Crusader 454's. It's been a little over a month since I took her out and both engines wouldn't go past 3200 RPM maintaining 18-19 mph WOT. She can usually go up to 29 mph WOT so figured the marine growth was causing the strain and hoped some of the growth would fall off and her speed would improve slightly... but never did. About 20 minutes into the trip the transmission oil overheat light came on the port engine thus the computer forced both engines to power down (but did not shut off). The light went out after the power down also. I put her in neutral then back in gear and putted all the way back to the marina at about 1200 RPM with no other warnings or issues. I didn't attempt to bring her up on plane again because I was just happy she was moving. Marine growth issue? Sensor issue? Any thoughts I can tell the mechanic to check into? Thanks everyone!

View the latest post ACU Location on 466

My friend just bought a 2007 466 MY and it came with a Raymarine 45STV satellite dish but we cannot find the antenna control unit. We looked everywhere we could think of including behind the salon TV but can;t find it. When we reset the breaker the dish does not move so either it is broken or the ACU is not there. Any suggestions would be appreciated
