View the latest post 1985 Carver Monterey 2987 fuel tank capacity

Hello everyone,
I just purchased a 1985 Carver Monterey 2987 with two gas 350's. Does anyone know the fuel tank capacities?

I have read any where from 75, to 100 to 110 gallon tanks.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

What is the purpose of the track and sliding cars on the port and starboard sides near the stern. It would appear that they are for attaching something. Any information on them?

View the latest post Carver 370 Aft Cabin Bilge Blowers

I have a '95 370 Aft Cabin that needs a bilge blower hose replaced on the starboard side. Has anyone replaced this hose and how difficult is it to replace?

just bought a 1988 Carver Santego. Its almost the twin to my last one sans the generator the color. The problems with this one are common and hopefully easy to repair. Where can we purchase new shift cables that are the same length and fit for the boat without first removing the cable? There isnt any visible part number on either cable. Can this boat be upgraded to electric shift? I would be interested in that. Thank you all for any help!

View the latest post New Carver Owner - 1987 32' Aft Cabin

I just purchased my first Carver and very happy with the boat. I do have some basic questions that I have received conflicting answers from friends who own boats, but not one of this size.

Are there any good checklists out there to for "start-up", securing the boat, etc. I'm a Navy guy and live by checklists to ensure things are turned on/off in the proper sequence.

Next, wrt the batteries, should they be left on or shut off when leaving the boat. I have heard answers in both the "yes" category and "no" category. The boat is connected to shore power so I assume the batteries are being charged if left on and should be left on when not in use so the bilge pumps work? Just looking for guidance, recommendations there.

Lastly, are there any good schematics of the engine spaces to show where things are located? I have the original owners manual, but there diagrams are hard to follow. I am familiar with the major systems, just wondering if I am missing some hidden items that could help with preventive maintenance.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Scott

View the latest post Aft Vacuum pump

When I go to my breaker panel to turn on the aft head, you can hear and see the pump working (piston moving up and down) but the pump never shuts off. I need thoughts on what to look for to correct this problem.

Thanks

View the latest post Salon A/C in Carver 370 Aft Cabin

Hey All,

I just discovered soaking carpet in the salon on the port side around the cabinet. I pulled the cover where the a/c unit sets and discovered alot of water in the drip/ condensation pan that I had to sponge out. I could not find blockage in the drain line. I am going to blow compressed air through the line.
Any idea what else could cause the back flow of standing water in the condensation pan?

Thanks

My wife and I are new proud owners of a 1995 Carver 370. We are looking forward to learning all we can as this is a much bigger boat that our 2002 Regal 3060. Look forward to hearing everyone's opinions.
