View the latest post Carver 410 - Volvo diesels (2002)

Hi everyone,
New to the Carver forum. Been looking at a 2002 Carver 410 Sport Sedan, Volvo TAMD 63P-A 370HP diesels. The 410 is a different looking style, lots of salon space and deck area. Is there anyone familiar with this model Carver? Doing lookups can't find much information, it looks like they only produced them for a couple years. That in itself scares me a bit, wondering if this model had many issues and they decided to dis-continue. Haven't been able to find anyone so far that is experienced with the 410.

Thanks
Joe

View the latest post Where did you get your cockpit hardtop???

I am in the process of choosing between two different 320 Voyagers from 1996. Neither has a bimini or hardtop over the cockpit area of the boat. This is a deal breaker for the 'admiral' so I am scrambling to see if there is a way to cover this area, preferably with a hardtop for a more permanent solution. I see them in some photos on the Internet but not nearly as many of them as I see on the Bayliners, for example and with no idea of where to locate such a thing. Is there by any chance a company that makes some sort of generic hard top in a variety of sizes, not necessarily specific to this boat?

As a pilot I have always enjoyed having a fuel flow indicator so this will be the next thing I install on the boat. In the mean time I wondered if anyone could tell me what their fuel burn is on this boat with a pair of Crusader 350 XL motors at a gentle hull speed of just 7-9 knots, or whatever that speed happens to be on this boat. I cannot find a reference to this anywhere. I am sure that it is a pretty modest burn but I am curious to know what that speed and burn might be with these motors and V-drives. I look forward to contributing to the forum in the weeks to come as I dig into one of these and will be most grateful for any help others can offer along the way as I get reacquainted with something I haven't been involved in for over 30 years. Here we go :)

View the latest post 2003 360 SS Bow Thruster

Carver Owners,

Does anyone have any idea what brand/model bow thruster is installed in the 360 SS? It appears I have lost a bow thruster blade, but the 360 SS parts manual doesn't make any mention of it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

View the latest post Carver 355 aux. tank fuel leak

I have a 1996 Carver 355 Aft Cabin in heated storage.. The auxillary fuel tank under the dive platform developed a leak.. I had the tank drained and neutralized.. My dilemma is to replace the tank or just dead head it and just not have an auxillary tank which I never used... I have been told that the boat won't ride properly without the tank because it provides ballast..A surveyor and a Carver certified repair man said thats not true.. If it was Carver would tell you to keep the tank full which they don't .. I need some advice here from someone who knows..1 Carver dealer told me it would and I just got off the phone with another carver dealer who said it wouldn't.Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) Fuel Filter

On the Diesel D6-370. When changing the spin on fuel filters there is a water sensor on the bottom. Before I start tugging on it, does the clip need to be removed to separate it from the fuel filter. See the attached picture.
Thanks for the help

View the latest post Throttle Replacement Carver 27' Santego

I am looking at changing my throttle set and cables this spring before my 1987 Santego 27' goes in the water. From my research it looks like the Teleflex CH7800 control W/tilt,trim on handle is the best choice for a throttle set.

Has anyone here done the replacement themselves?

What length of cables would I need to purchase for the replacement.

The boat is currently out of the water and I was looking at doing this before I put her back in in mid-may.

Thanks

Hi, I am Bob Waz and under contract for a 1995 Carver 380 Santego with 350HP Crusaders. The decision was finding a reasonably priced boat that is dog friendly to our 3 larger dogs. In getting them on board with the steps on platform and up to the bridge is perfect, Also the cabin being roomy with basically no steps is great. We do our boating on northern Lake Champlain, NY. It is law but not currently enforced to have a grey water tank. This is something I will do and if any others have done this would appreciate feed back. We are in our 60s now and found the name KNOT AGAIN! to be quite fitting. We have owned many boats in our past but the 2 larger ones were a 34 Hatteras Sport Cruiser and a 36 Island Gypsy quad cabin.
