Looking at a 1994 Carver 37 Aftcabin, any input would be great. Has anyone taken this boat from Florida to the Bahamas?

View the latest post Newbie 92 Carver 534

Aloha everyone!
I am a co-owner of a 92 Carver 534 with twin 7.4L Mercruisers. I really love the boat design and thought it was in great shape based on survey and sea trials, but as with an older boat, there is always something. Happy to be a member of the Carver Owners Group and looking forward to learning from all of you.

View the latest post Lagoon City Marina - Lake Simcoe - Under New Management

On May 1st, the Pride Marine Group had many staff on hand, at their official opening of Lagoon City Marina on Lake Simcoe. As the new operators, they seem to be getting quickly organized, and the management and staff were very approachable and helpful. There are over 270 slips in Lagoon City, with many anxious boaters still waiting for this season's launch. Mr. Roger Moore is the new site manager.

A familiar face to many in the boating community, Mr. Brian Berriault, previously of Midland's Bay Port Marina, has joined the Pride Group at the Lagoon City location. I watched Brian giving personal direction to a crewmember, and careful attention, as the travel lift launched a large vessel. Obviously, Brian is a pro.

If one can imagine taking over a previous marina operation [Crates of Keswick], where it has been locked up for the past five or six month, attempting to learn the location, clients, get the machinery working, the travel-lift which needed upgrading, etc., it would not be an easy task. That said, many fellow boaters I spoke with in my visit there this past weekend, had favourable comments on the new operator.

(The court appointed Receiver for bankrupt Crates Keswick, had control of the property until April 30th. Crates never owned Lagoon City Marina; they had a ten year lease from the property owner, a Toronto investment firm.)
I emphasize it was Crates Keswick that went into receivership; not to be confused with Crates Lake Country Boats Orillia, who was not affiliated with the Keswick business.

cheers all,

Steve

View the latest post Retiring from sailing

As a new member I would like to introduce myself, as a future owner of a Carver Yacht.
We are retiring from sailing, our last few years of sailing were on Lake Champlain near Plattsburg, I am currently on the market for buying a Carver 355, which seems to be the ideal size for boating in Champlain, the Thousand Islands the Rideaux and the Trent and Severn canals.
I will probably have a lot of questions for you members once I select the boat I want to buy, right now I am trying to listen and read as much as I can on the Motor Yacht World.
Our names are Chantal and Jacques.

View the latest post San Diego peeps.

Hey folks, seems like most everyone on this forum is far away for us to get together on excursions. I would like to find Members that are located in the Southern California area (San Diego) that may be interested inraft ups, excursions or just plain ol' socializing.

View the latest post Attachment(s) New member, old boat

Hello,
I'm Thomas, from middle Tn. We are new to the forum but not new to boating. Our current Carver is a 78 Voyager 3326. She is powered by twin counter rotating Crusader 270 hp engines coupled to Walter V-drives. They have countless hours on them and will need a rebuild soon but still give us trouble free weekends on Kentucky Lake and the occasional long run up the TN river to Pickwick Lake and beyond. Thanks for allowing us to be a part and we look forward to getting, and giving, advice from fellow Carver owners. Happy Boating!!

Am looking at purchasing this boat. Anyone know if this model has a closed cooling system, or if the engines circulate seawater? Anyone who has taken this boat on open ocean, and how it handles?

I'm soliciting any advice or experience anyone has with this or similar boat.

Thanks in advance!
