View the latest post toilet wont hold water.

I have 2 Thetford elecric toilets on my boat.
Both fill and flush OK but neither will hold water in the bowl it just leaks out.
I have tried a couple of bottles of seal conditioner with no resuts, since it leaks out also.
I thought about removing the discharge hose and plugging it up to hold the seal conditioner until it has more effect but I,m hesitant to try that.
Parts no longer seem to be available either.

Thanks Don

View the latest post pulling the trigger on a 3207

New to the forum. Just about ready to pull the trigger on a 83 3207 AC.

Just wondering if there are specific issues or areas that I need to inspect as typical trouble spots?

I'm currently living on Kentucky Lake and I frequently watch loopers heading south. so if anybody needs anything feel free to drop me a line on here.

I'm looking forward to the years ahead with the Carver Aft cabin this will be my first big one.

View the latest post Bedding a front windshield

2002 57' Carver front tinted middle windshield is loose. I need to rebed but am not sure how to go about it. I figure I will take the shield off, cut out the old sealant and then rebed. What type of sealant is recommended. Does anyone have suggestions on the right way to do this?

View the latest post Wing Doors

I have a 2002 346 MY aft cabin in 2003 they they renamed it 366 and replaced the canvas wing doors with lexan and powder coat aluminum.

I would like to upgrade.
Does anybody know who can supply these at a resonable price. Used or salvage would be OK.

Thanks Don

View the latest post Firboy Intermittent Discharge Alarm

My 406 Aft Cabin gave me about one second of discharge alarm for the Fireboy engine compartment fire suppression system. After returning to port I got several more intermittent and very short beeps. Its a clean system - not Halon - and the bottle still indicates in the upper part of the normal pressure range, so I suspect an indication failure instead of a discharge. The Fireboy discharge alarm is set off simply by low pressure at the sensor on the bottle. Fireboy says its either a bad pressure sensor requiring an expensive return to the factory for replacement or an electrical break in the sensor wiring. Any ideas out there on where to start on the electrical search. Thought I'd act like a boat owner and try the cheapest route first.

View the latest post Toilet doesn't want to flush. Raritan Crown Head

I have a Raritan Crown Head, I took it home, took it completly apart and cleaned it. Found that it was really in good shape. I replaced the Joker valve with a 3 way instead of the single split and it worked well for about 2 months, even taking (poo well), then it started having a really hard time flushing. It even has a hard time flushing water. I snaked the entire line. I then replaced the entire 1 1/2" line to the tank, replaced the vent, replaced the water lines on the toilet, and rinsed the tank vent line out. I'm now down to staring at the black water tank wondering if the intake line should not have a 90 degree on the line where it enters the tank. Should it be a straight line in? It currently is a 90 degree elbow right before it enters the tank. I am wondering if that is slowing it down or clogging it down. Also should the new line go up hill shortly behind the toilet and then back down to the tank for higher gravity pull towards the tank?
Mine looks like this picture but my hose goes into the tank with a 90 degree elbow instead of straight in like this picture

The set up in my boat is a refit from factory because the factory was a pump toilet and these are electric, so somewhere a long the line someone put these in. So if someone knows how they should be installed properly, you advice would be appreciated.

View the latest post Carver 444

Hello, I am looking at the Carver 444, 2001. I would really appreciate some input on a couple of things before I make an offer.

Is a bow thruster an essential item to have on the 444?

How low an rpm can I cruise at for long periods without adverse effects on engines? I would be content to operate at trawler speeds most times

Thanks in advance for any input you might have!
