I was looking at the Carver website the other day and noticed that they stopped making the 54 Voyager leaving only the 34,37 and 40C models. I hope they have some new stuff in the pipeline! I would love to see some smaller stuff and definitely some Santego models. Anyone (at Carver) have anything they can tell us???

View the latest post Hull Crack Question

1986 Carver 3607.

Got a place on the stern that looks lighter than the paint around it so I figured it had been a repair job. This weekend I noticed the bottom had a small crack across the bottom.

I'm going to put this repair in "Urgent" column and get someone out quick as I would think any crack you can visibly see should be repaired quick since you probably wouldn't want any water intrusion.

It's pretty high off the water line (at least 2 1/2 feet and at the very bottom of the off color spot which I would imagine is a repair job.

Wanted to confirm with the Carver Gurus on this one that it should be repaired ASAP.

View the latest post 360 sport sedan shore power

Hello, I just bought a2004 360 sport sedan and noticed the two 30 amp power cables are actually built into the boat. They don't connect like most other boats. I want to replace the cables. Has anyone done this on a 360?

View the latest post 2003 Carver 360 Sport Sedan

Carver Owners,

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a 2003 Carver 360 Sport Sedan. Just curious if any current Carver 360 SS owners had any perspectives/experiences/feedback they could share; both good and bad?

We are taking it for a Sea Trial tomorrow, and so far the survey has not turned up anything major.

My only reservation is that this particular 360 SS comes with the standard twing Volvo 5.7 GXIs (320 hp), and I'm a bit unceratin that it may not be enought power? Any ingsight?

Thanks!
Rob

View the latest post New 355 ACMY REPO owner, trying to sort things out.

Hello I have recently purchased a1997 355, that was repossessed, the boat was obviously neglected, so naturally I am looking for any and all answers to a lot of issues that I am, and will be having. Very glad that there is such a wealth of info, and am looking to helping with any issues that other owners might have that I have experience with!! When I registered I left out some info that I now realize I should have put in. How do I go back and add more info?

I have a 1987 Aft Cabin with twin Mercruiser 340s. Has anyone ever done or heard of installing some type of muffler system to quiet it down? If so, could you supply any information pertaining to that.
Thanks

View the latest post New 3807 Owner

I am closing in two weeks on (soon to be mine) a 1991 3807. Have been an owner of various types of boats both power and sail for the last 30 years and am looking forward to this particular boat. Basic specifications are:

Name - Sol Mates
Power - 6BTA Cummins
Gen - 8 KW Kohler

Basic electronics and standard Carver setup.

I was really excited to find a diesel powered 3807 and this particular vessel has an absentee owner so it is in need of a good scrub down inside and out. Other than that she is good to go, she is currently located in Port Aransas, TX and will be moving to Galveston, TX via the GCICW. If anyone on the forum has made that trip I would appreciate communicating with you.

Thanks and looking forward to interacting on the forum.

Dave

View the latest post clean out of long un-used aux. fuel tank and other fuel tank

Hi,
I think I saw this subject once before, and possibly a great solution, but can't find it.
I have a 1995 355 Aft Cabin with gas engines. I have owned the boat for a year. The previous owner never used the aux. tank and in fear, I have not either. Is there a fairly simple way to clean out any debris that might be there so that I can use the tank?
Also, can anyone tell me exactly how the aux tank works? as in, will the fuel be used automatically from the aux tank before the fuel in the main tanks is used?
Also, can someone explain how the syncronizer works? there is a guage and a switch.
