View the latest post Replacement bimini top 1994 370 Voyager?

The Isenglass is in perfect shape but previous owner replaced bimini top. New one has no zippers or straps to accommodate original Isenglass panels. Any hints on where to get a replacement bimini for this boat?

Hello everyone,

Just found a very nice project boat. It is a 1978 Carver Voyager 33', it is old and dusty, but sound. And I love it.

A little about myself and boating. My parents were always on the river when I was a kid, so I'm really just staying in their wake.. I have always loved the design of the Carver (Especially the Voyager) and when a friend called about this boat I jumped on it. This is going to be a big step up from my 24' SeaRay, but it will be fun.

Anyway, found this site looking for a place to talk and maybe find parts. From what I have read so far.. I like.

Happy boating everyone.

-Erik

View the latest post New member about to close on a 98 350

Hello All,
I'm about to close on my personal "dream boat" a 1998 350 Mariner. My wife and I fell in love with this model when we first saw it at the NYC Boat Show in 1998.
It's been a long time coming (and 6 previous boats)!
I'm looking forward to participating in this forum.
Boat specs:
X-ta-Sea
Twin Crusader 7.4 liter 454 XL MPI ~700 hours on each
Full compliment of electronics, including a Ray Marine E series Auto Pilot (which I have to figure out)
:captain:
Kohler 6.5 kw genset
AC/Heat
and the rest of the normal Carver options

The boat is currently in Washington DC but I am planning on moving it to Lake George NY. We are undecided on how to move it. Truck it or take the trip up the coast, the Hudson river and Champlain Canal then have it ported across from Lake Champlain to Lake George.
Any advice on that would be most welcome. I have 25 years boating experience but zero Coastal piloting experience.
The Boat has been surveyed and is in great condition. As a new owner is there any thing I should be especially mindful on the 350?

Sincerely
Paul

View the latest post difference between montego 3257 & 3297??

I am new to all this...But i am not sure if we have a 3257 or 3297. Anyone know the difference? Also we need a few cosmetic updates to our 1987 & any help finding parts would be really appreciated. Need all vent screens, need trim pieces that are located on the wall as u enter the galley. Need new latch for same trim & door. Need window stripping for both port & starboard side windows. Need new track for galley door. Need to know approximately how much foam & material we need to put in new dining set seats & couch. And lastly, how big are both beds in the V bed & aft bed. The boat is several hrs away from us & we are headed down to work on it this weekend, but wanted to bring as many materials with is as we could or at least know where to get them. Finding Carver parts is seeming to be a challenge for a novice like me! Thanks in advance!

View the latest post Screws coming loose from trim tabs - Uh oh!

Hello All,
So my Carver is still stuck in my yard because it won't stop raining and it is like a lake. I am thinking that I have enou time to address a possible nightmare with the trim tabs. On each tab, there were 3-6 screws that have backed out. When I screw them in, they spin. I tried a bigger screw and it worked for some but not others. Thoughts?

I know the obvious concern about the core being possibly wet...I am praying it isn't! Thus far, when I thought the Carver was going to the water, I filled the hold with 5200 and put the screws back in. Now that I have time, what should I do? Should I pull the trim tabs off, open the holes up, fill then up with fiberglass resin and then red rill them and put it all back together?

Any thoughts? Any process better than I mentioned? Should I just leave it alone?

Thanks All,

Steve
