View the latest post My trailer situation

Ok so the good news is i have both engines running great. the bad news is the boat is on an unacceptable trailer, the trailer isn's bad per say but its just too small for my boat to be taken on the road. and it is balanced way too much on the back. the boat hauler refused to tow it for me (and rightly so) but told me i had to get it on stands and he could come get it with his hydrolic trailer. so my question is how do i get it on stands or blocks.

View the latest post 1986 3607 Aft Cabin Windows

Anyone got the 411 on replacement/repair on the smaller windows on the boats? I recently bought this boat and while it is very nice and well maintained, there are several of the plastic window pieces that are broken.

Where can you get replacement parts?

Thanks.

View the latest post Lost ALL DC Power - 2003 Carver Mariner 350

While cruising, with the generator running, I lost all DC power on board on first trip out this year. Everything - blowers, instrumentation, lights, radio... I can start and run both engines and the generator just fine. Engine and Gen batteries charged with shore power. Shore power works to power AC, etc, but still no DC anywhere. I've tripped and reset all the obvious:confused: breakers. Any thoughts?

View the latest post 360 Sport Sedan Bridge removal 2003 (or 04)

Hi All -

I am not QUITE a Carver owner yet, but set to do a Sea trial on a 2003 360 Sport Sedan this week. If all goes well, I own it on the spot and I will need to remove bridge and truck it to the St. Croix River. My question is: does anybody have any helpful hints, best practices, or just good advice you could share on this particular procedure on this particular boat?? ? I have hired a crew that has done a lot of bridge removal/reassembly, but I just wanted to be armed with as much info as possible since every boat configuration is different and want this to go smoothly.

Thanks in advance!! Here's to a great summer on a Carver!

View the latest post Attachment(s) spiral stairs install

We are attempting to install the Salter Spiral Stairs onto the back of our 1989 36' foot Carver Aft Cabin. :banghead: The top step is supposed to be screwed into the back of the boat.(from underneath it no less - felt like an acrobatic trying to do this) Turns out there really isn't anything for the screws to be screwed into. We are thinking we need to go through from the Aft Cabin with lag bolts. This will require a metal plate and extra work. Then we have to be creative about how to cover up the metal plate. The stairs also won't go snug against the boat. I think we have to live with that. Any other ideas would certainly be welcomed.

View the latest post Replace wood in head with FRP panel?

OK, so I've posted on way too many threads tonight.... Slow night at work...

Another project on my '78 Santa Cruz 2866.

I've restored the wood throughout the salon, but I'm not sure I want to do the same in the head. I'm not really concerned how it looks in there. The same amount of effort stripping/sanding/staining/varnishing seems wasted. And it's not the best surface if we use our shower with any frequency (probably won't, but not sure).

So I was considering covering the head walls with a product made for bathroom interiors. There are many choices, but HomeDepot carries plain white FRP sheets in plain white colors. I could easily cover the whole thing with 2 4x8 sheets cut to fit- less than $75 in materials. Instead of their recommended adhesive, which would probably ruin the underlying wood and prevent any hope of recovery (for me, or the next owner), I plan to use a "removable" and sand-able marine adhesive, and edge molding.

Anyone tried anything similar, or see any obvious problems with the plan?

JB
