View the latest post Battery Connection Drawing

When we turn on the battery charger for each engine, they click right back off again and we think something might not be hooked up correctly. Does anyone have a picture or drawing of how the battery connections go for a 2002 Carver 396 with diesel engines. There are five batteries and we think it is one for each engine, 2 house batteries in parallel and 1 generator battery, but purchased the boat used (and neglected), so we don't know for sure.

View the latest post New to the site and Carver

Hey all just sold my Meridian 408 and purchased a 2005 56 voyager. I am very active with DIY projects and found the Meridian forum to be very helpful and hoping this site will do the same especially given the systems given the systems on this boat seem over the top. First question is cleaning the AC filters. I found one filter under the stairs to the fly bridge, however it seems the only way to get the filter out is to pull off the stair. Found three strews under the stair but that did not seem to do the trick. Any advice would be great? The prior owner did not clean any of the air intake filters and going through the boat to start cleaning them up, this one has stumped me.

Hi all, just bought my first carver 4 weeks ago and like it a lot, it's a montego 25 mid cabin with a mercruiser 5,7 from 1990. I'm situated in Sweden so the season is about to end within the closest few week... To bad. On the positive side is that i will have plenty of time fixing during the off season ;-) Hope to get a lot of good advise from you experienced carver owners.

New to the group, and soon to be new to the boat!

She's already on stands and indoors for the winter. Looking forward to getting her ready for Moosehead Lake in the Spring!

View the latest post 3.7l to 4.3l converstion, Montego 2757

Hi, I'm new to the forum. We have had our Montego for nearly 20 years and run a lot of hours/year. We replaced the original 3.7's with Jasper remans and they now have 400 hours. We can't keep the boat on the water due to a variety of problems that are all engine related. Want to convert to 4.3l Vortecs. From a reliability perspective I'm looking at a 4.3l, 4 barrel carb Mercruiser reman from Michigan Mortorz (3 year warranty). This will be about a 15k conversion unless I could find relatively new, low hour used engines. If anyone has advise, knows of used engines or any other input I would appreciate. Thanks.

View the latest post AC Trouble in my 444CPMY

The cooling fins on the AC in the main salon began to disintegrate and "spray" tiny pieces of aluminum all over the main cabin. The unit was replaced by a new Marine Air unit 2 seasons ago and the new unit is now doing the same thing. There is no evidence of sea water intrusion into the space - it is dry except for the normal water present in the collection pan for the condensation run off. Any one else have this problem? I don't wan to replace the unit again without knowing what is going on here.

View the latest post Dont think I have introduced myself yet

New guy from Chicago with a 4207. Bought my boat a few years ago while in the midst of the divorce from hell. It was structurally sound and mechanically perfect, just needed some serious cleaning and all new soft goods. I love my projects and this kept me occupied. It has been such a great boat to own during the summer that last year I did what most people dream of doing and kept it in the water during winter and basically lived aboard. Best condo in downtown Chicago.
Any other 4207 owners here?
