View the latest post 1986 3207 AC Aft Roof Panel

Just became an owner of a 1986 Carver 32 AC and have seen pictures of similar models with the aft deck with a fiberglass roof. Are these available to purchase? Just curious and looking for info. Thanks.

View the latest post Carver 506

Hello all.

Im looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly with the Carver 506. My wife and I are looking at purchasing our first boat to explore the new stage of our live as we near retirement. There are a few Carver models we are looking at but would like to get some real world intel on the 506. Eventually, we are looking at the loop. The 506 seems a bit tall but I have seen posts that owners are navigating the loop with their 506s. Any information on navigating the loop in Canada, locking, and passing the bridge South of Chicago would be most helpful.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Removing a trash compactor

I have a 1987 4207 with a built in trash compactor in the galley, under the cabinet next to the fridge that I never use, neither did the previous owner. Not sure if it even works, but it’s nasty looking.

I decided to removed it and put in a nice new wine cooler. The removal did not go well. I can’t see how it’s attached to the floor. No obvious screws/bolts holding it in place. But it’s solid. I ended up cutting it off near the base and removing the top part with the motor and mechanisms…which was unbelievably heavy.

The base is now easily accessible but I still don’t see how it’s attached.

Has anyone removed one of these beasts?

Thanks!

View the latest post Carver 396 swim platform extension

Greetings! We recently purchased a Carver 396 and would like to add a swim platform extension. We found that Swim Platforms Ultra offers the extension but we have the built in dock box. Has anyone done this? Does the dock box need to come off? Also somewhat concerned that at a slow cruise the swim platform that we have is almost under water. Any information would be helpful, thanks.

View the latest post Bow Thruster / Tank sensors

Bought a 94 Carver Mariner 330 last spring. Brought it back from lake Ontario to the Hudson River near Albany -
Thinking about installing a bow thruster this spring. Been looking at Side power and Max Power brands, 12 & 24 VDC. Would like to know
If anyone with a similar boat has any experience or opinions on selection and install. Also boat does not have tank sensors for plastic
holding tank and aluminum water tank. Would appreciate ideas on what sensors to use. Windows leak a little but Ill leave that question for another day.
Thanks
Bus

View the latest post Question on 3207, maybe others

What type of wood is used for interior accent/trim? Is it mahogany? It looks too dark for teak.

Thanks.
